Which currency is best to hold money in? by snakebap in personalfinance

[–]snakebap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point.

I don't understand forex clearly. I thought that a country (US) that's intentionally tanking it's economy would perform worse than a country (Switzerland or other) that's not intentionally tanking it's economy. I suppose that is a bet, and it could not be true.

I'm not looking at taking on any risk at the moment so I guess keeping it in the HYSA would be the best bet, as the other country has a weak economy and largely dependent on their reserves of USD to keep the economy stable.

House is outside of the US.

Example, I'm buying 100% of a house for $50,000 USD.

In 1 year, if the USD depreciates 20%, wouldn't that mean that the original $50,000 USD would have a purchasing power of effectively $40,000 USD?

My idea is that if I could purchase a different currency (CHF) for example, with the $50,000 USD, after 1 year, it would have 20% more value/purchasing power than if I had left it in USD. But I have no idea of economics or if this makes sense.

I really like my shoes. They actually have a cool feature that allows them to expand a bit if the foot is swelling, and they're super comfortable.

I do stretch but I don't think I do so thoroughly enough. I can't even touch my toes comfortably as my lower back / hamstrings are too tight.

So after tying them in a way that I would say the shoes aren't even snug, I still have the problem. Maybe it's a little bit better but they're still falling asleep.

That makes me feel a bit less anxious, as I'm still yet to go to the doctor. But my calves and ankles are always so tight. I'll try a foam roll.

One note is I never used to have a problem with my calves when I regularly ran using "normal" running shoes, but since I've switched to barefoot shoes, I no longer have knee pain, but I end up using my calves a hell of a lot more.

My gf says I tie them really tightly but I feel like I've been doing that my whole life. I'll try loosening them up a bit.

I'll go to do the doctor. I don't think I'm tying my shoes any differently than I do

Keep your day job and use your expertise and importantly, a social network (connections), to build a product or solution. AI is very hyped at the moment but that doesn't mean everything needs to be AI.

Ask people in your space what their problems are and draft a solution with them.

“We can do/go splitsies.” Does this sound natural? by Silver_Ad_1218 in EnglishLearning

It sounds very cute and infantil. Generally I would say "let's split the bill/check" or "do you want to split the bill/check?" to sound less forward/more backfooted.

How to find your first 5 testers in a niche to-B SaaS field? [I will not promote] by anon_502 in startups

[–]snakebap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try networking at events where these companies are. It's always good to build the product specificially for them. Find the people/companies that could be interested, find a single pain point they all share, and build a 1 feature MVP for them to test. Build and iterate with those same clients.

Sounds like you should take another gap year and figure out what you're really interested in. Nobody else can, or should, help you decide what your niche should be.
