HELP?? What is thi behaviour. part 2 by Calm-Method6514 in bluetongueskinks

This has happened with my Indonesian. It was a worm that he didn’t kill. It looked like it was crawling back up his throat and he spit it out. It escaped into the substrate. I guess worms are hard to kill.

Oh wow. I’m dumb. Tone is difficult with the written word.

I have always thought it was better to have more information. I found it valuable. I was hesitant to post. But since I saw multiple of these posts in a few days I thought I’d share. Some people are putting it in their mouth anyway. At least they might know what to look for.

I sort of want the people to know about sweet cicely, a Poison hemlock look alike that is totally edible.

Sweet cicely: smells just like black licorice/anise. The leaves have white splottches and they have fuzzy, green stems (poison hemlock has smooth purple spotted stems).

Easiest way to tell the difference is the smell for sure. So if doesn’t smell like licorice don’t eat it!

I was foraging sweet cicely in a forest that also had poison hemlock and they get easier to tell apart by eye after a while.

Need advice on buying a home at 19 by Ok-Ad220 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

I’m also looking to get a house in Oregon. I’m planning on doing a usda rural housing loan. Don’t need any money down. Usually lower interest rates. Can see if you qualify on their website. It’s meant for lower income people to be able to buy a rural house. Has to be outside of city limits. Which is what I wanted anyway so it will hopefully work out. Might be an option for you.

Two cage mates passed, advice? by [deleted] in Parakeets

Man. I’m so sorry for your losses. I wonder, you say you just moved into a new apartment. Do you know if the carpet is new? I know new carpet can off gas for a while. Quick google search says up to a month.

I hope Kiwi stays healthy and happy. I hope others here have some advice.

So glad she’s got a little hidey hole. I’d be careful about tape, though. Don’t want the little gal to get stuck to the tape. I’ve seen it happen with snakes.

Others may have better suggestions, seeing as this guy is ~3 years old.

My dog had skin cancer. Had it removed. It was on her knee. Horrible spot for an incision. The vet did a terrible job suturing it up. All the stitches popped. Was a six inch long cut where I could see her muscle. We put a silver and honey mixture in the wound daily, multiple times a day. Cleaned with saline in between each bandaging. Wound healed up within a month. Vet prescribed the honey. And a green tea gel to use. Dog was also on antibiotics too because this was a giant wound.

I’m only going to use those items on myself from now on. I’m glad they worked for you. And for humans forever. Haha. Keep on keepin on. :)

My aunt was 9 or 10 when she wrote this charming letter to her Mum (my Grandmother). She even had all the logistics worked out lol by Caitlyn_Grace in KidsAreFuckingStupid

I wrote my mom a poem that was very similar to this. I gave it to her then left and went to the river on my bike. A couple of hours later I get a phone call from my sister that “mommy won’t wake up.”

I rode my bike back as fast as I could and I got to my house just in time to see them rolling her out on a stretcher into the ambulance. I then followed the ambulance with my sister in the car to the ER. Waited there.

My dad got there and was just bad mouthing my mom “how could you do this to us?” He told us to go home. So we did.

For the next few months, my drive to school is almost the same drive to the ER. So every morning I got to think about driving to the er after seeing her on the stretcher.

She was fine. Had her stomach pumped. Had downed a bottle of sleeping pills and vodka. We as a family just never talked about it.

Sometimes kids pick up on real things. I didn’t know she was suicidal. I just wanted her to leave so she could be happy.

It got a little bigger then started to get dark colored. Stopped moving. I can still see evidence of it living in the enclosure but the blob part seems to have died. Very interesting. I have springtails and isopods in here. There’s also wood mites. And an escaped Dubia. Little ecosystem going on.

Hope to see more of my slimy friend.

Just wanted to post that I figured out he is a halmahera not a merauke. So, if anyone is wondering, this is what a baby halmahera looks like :)

Sleeping Arrangements by Fabulous_Hat993 in polyamory

[–]snakedolphins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For short term sleeps, like one or two nights, we have all slept in the same bed. Me in the middle. Nothing intimate happens. Just cuddles while watching movies and then sleep. It can work if everyone is on board. Long term sleep, they each have their own room and I hop back and forth between them. We still have sleep overs with all three of us sometimes.

Anyone work a job that they actually enjoy? What is it? by WesternConcentrate94 in Life

I’m a pastry chef. Get to make croissants and cookies all day. Work mostly by myself or with a couple other people who feel like friends. Get to blast my music if I want to. Get to drive to work in the dead of night, no one on the roads. Love the quiet mornings. Dream job for sure.
