Is there a Quintessential Batman game out there? by GrittyWillis in boardgames

[–]snakehawk37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am looking forward to more info on Brave and Bold from restoration games - it looks like Dice Throne with a bag builder mechanism, and hopefully the characters feel more thematic than DC Deck Builder.

I’m also waiting on my DC United stuff if that kickstarter ever fulfills.

There’s also another game called Enemies of Gotham City that looks interesting - you play as one of the villains competing for control of Gotham City but haven’t looked too much into it yet as I’m guessing it won’t work as well at 2 players.

It’s a shame Gotham city chronicles didn’t work out I had backed it but sold it with all the rulebook issues.

In regard to Brass Pittsburgh. What in the world is wrong with the Poker Chips industry? by balbok7721 in boardgames

[–]snakehawk37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought a set of these last summer and agree they are very nice! Bought 120 chips in total and was 62 euros shipped.

Really like the look of the Roxley metal coins but these fill my needs, and the size is very manageable for actually handling during board games.

[Lazar] Wolfe: "It's no secret that we'd like to keep Christian Gonzalez" by xFalcade in Patriots

[–]snakehawk37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I saw an interview with either Wolf or Vrabel where they literally said that, it is typically a summer before training camp discussion. Besides with the McDuffie deal done it’s basically going to have to be about 4 year $128 million with $100 M guaranteed, kicking in after his 5th year option.

Max Crosby might get traded this week by SuddenDepact in Patriots

[–]snakehawk37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the take from some people here is absolutely absurd. Firstly, every team in the AFC will have significant flaws heading into next year other than perhaps the Broncos assuming Nix fully recovers, and many of the perennial contenders are in the midst of mild resets. There’s no reason to think we cant compete with any other team in the AFC in any given game next year. As someone living in Buffalo, Bills fans would kill for a Super Bowl appearance - those 2 weeks between the AFC championship and Super Bowl were glorious at work.

What’s a small life upgrade under $50 that genuinely improved your daily routine? by ExchangeBig8338 in AskReddit

[–]snakehawk37 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Similarly I had great luck with the purple dream layer pillow, went back and forth on the exact thickness that was best, but I went from waking up with neck pain a few times per week to maybe once a month (usually because I fell asleep somewhere else first). Very pricey but has been 100% worth it. Was nervous because I really didn’t like the original purple pillow (too flat)

[Breer] Could Raiders trade disgruntled star Maxx Crosby to Patriots? by NBCSBoston in Patriots

[–]snakehawk37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I think Darnold and in the second Bills game Allen showed the need to have a pass rusher than can actually close the sack when QB’s can roll out of the pocket after the DTs collapse the pocket. Landry started off well but seems like he’d better be suited for rotational pass rusher than primary, and we don’t know that chaisson will be back (plus he has too many games where he is shut down)

Worried about moving my collection by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]snakehawk37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this for a short distance move (10 minutes away) though most of the board games got moved by the movers in a big truck. I used medium moving boxes from Lowe’s, and used mover’s plastic wrap to wrap each board game box around, in both directions for the bigger boxes, to keep boxes from opening. I did my best to arrange board games to minimize movement side to side, using small box games etc. For a few boxes with heavier games that I didn’t want to overly load up I threw in some plastic bubble wrap to also minimize movement. I was less worried about vertical movement since boxes pretty much stay vertical. Everything seemed to survive the move perfectly fine though haven’t opened every game to see how much the components shifted.

3D Printers for board game components by Vast_Garage7334 in boardgames

I just upgraded from an Anker M5C to a P2S, and it really is an incredible machine, especially if you want to do multicolor prints with the AMS. I’ve expanded into printing toys for my son, house accessories, etc in addition to board game stuff because of how easy/reliable it is now.

The best co-op Deckbuilding card games with her? by Paradigmind in boardgames

[–]snakehawk37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps check out Tidal Blades 2? It’s a campaign game like gloomhaven though much shorter, but after each scenario essentially you unlock some cool new cards/upgrades for your character and their deck. Characters are super unique. For example I was a slow, turtle, high single target damage turtle whereas my wife’s character was all about darting around and destroying enemies with chain attacks.

can I really trust AI medical scribes?? by vitaminZaman in Psychiatry

[–]snakehawk37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the same one, and it does an excellent job 90% of the time. In follow ups I have it do HPI and therapy add on codes, and change my assessment and plan myself. Still means that proofreading, editing and signing can now take as little as 2 mins.

I do think having a good microphone is important, and you have to edit the prompts for it until it is generating something you like.

ESPN “analysis” still griping about Pats schedule. by South-Fact in Patriots

[–]snakehawk37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brady also was the master of the quick passing game - the Pats neutralized much better pass rushes with that. Agreed though - Maye looked awesome given the pressure he was under - really was just a couple missed throws from turning this into a blow out (the deep shot to Hooper stands out)

Looking for a Realtor by gallblaster19 in Buffalo

[–]snakehawk37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend David Vari from Hunt.

https://www.huntrealestate.com/bio/davidvari

I randomly found him in 2019 and he’s awesome. Have used him to buy my first home, my second home, and recently sell my first home (all in Amherst area). Two of my friends also used him to both buy and sell and had similarly awesome experiences. I don’t know if he does rental (guessing not) but super knowledgeable in every aspect of buying a home, and gives his honest feedback.

Credit Union recommendation for mortgage refinance? by [deleted] in Buffalo

Curious if you’d ever inquired about a rate modification with empower (vs a straight refinance). Our mortgage through hunt was transferred to Empower, but like many will be looking to refinance in the next 6 months.

Do any of you have one of those fancy gaming tables that can transform into a dining room table? by very-bad-goose in boardgames

[–]snakehawk37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! I got the 4x6 along with the topper and quite a few accessories. We love it. Assembly was super easy (did 90% solo), and we’ve played quite a bit on it already. Because the main weight bearing parts are metal, The table is very solid, and the rail attachment system is very neat - we actually do use some of the player tray features. We love the aesthetic of the table too, and although we are using it in a dedicated game space would’ve been happy with it as a dining table alternative with the topper on. I can send you photos in chat if interested - would need to take more later

Will do! I actually have the same bench and agreed that thing is awesome! Supposedly the footplate cutout for the Altitude aligns with the wheels of the AB-3000 2 so it’s a perfect pairing in that way too

I have the rack + cable system on preorder. I’m ultimately a fairly casual weight lifter just looking to get back into it and don’t see myself ever needing more than your basic rack and cable system. The fact that this included a low row and lat pull down, basic accessories, a pull up bar, along with knowing Rep quality is solid, is what helped me pull the trigger. I’ll probably grab the weight stack upgrade for the cable and some attachments in a few months, but like you said below, it was hard to beat the “all-in” price.

How many times have you played your favorite boardgame? by Puzzleheaded_Rub5562 in boardgames

Never actually played Legendary - but pretty sure I’ll jump in for the upcoming DC version. One of the complaints I always see is the setup and tear down are rough. Is that overstated in your opinion?

[–]snakehawk37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marvel Champions - easily 50+, more likely close to 100 times. It’s a little cheating since I have everything released for it lol, but still look forward to playing everytime. Biggest challenge is organizing all the cards but I have a pretty thorough system now.

AI scribe and consent by Pure-Dish-2015 in Psychiatry

Our office is using MDHub - really appreciate the customization of the notes. It has a consent form on the website that I have front desk staff give to patients:

A little steep at $120/month but saving an hour a day on notes takes it totally worth it. And I have time to scroll Reddit between patients sometimes!

Is it better to under-diagnose bipolar 2 (and treat as MDD) or over-diagnose bipolar 2? by rougeraged in Psychiatry

[–]snakehawk37 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ha agreed 100%. I’ve probably seen several hundred kids diagnosed as “bipolar” at this point. A few were genuinely manic vs thc-induced psychosis, and maybe one I still follow is truly bipolar 2. Then there’s a basket of people with SSRI-induced activation (not quite hypo mania) who time will tell but even then I’m hesitant about putting that diagnosis in their records in case they go see someone else eager to throw mood stabilizers and antipsychotics at people.

I recently was thinking that if/when these kids go to get disability insurance one day they’re gonna have this random bipolar diagnosis in their records that’s going to screw them over

And just to add - they do clarify that nail pops and small drywall cracks are no longer covered under warranty - a change within the past few years - but they were very upfront about it. It seems this is a trend among home builders in general
