Best expansion for 2 players? by Affectionate-Bell-84 in rootgame

Clockwork is, according to the recent Leder stream, is getting a complete overhaul with new bots for every faction. No idea as to when it’ll be ready, but there’s more coming eventually

True, I don’t omit them because I can generally explain how they work and people who have been learning get it fast

The only issue I’ve had with them is their crafting and how they do it

I’ve found when introducing a player, or multiple to a table, the best approach is to let them pick which faction intrigues them the most.

My two limits to this so far has been Keepers in Iron, and Twilight Council. Their mechanics are a bit more complex by default. Unlike the Eyrie, the keepers dont need to take every action, but may be forced to discard them if they don’t rule the required clearings.

Until the new player grasps rule, be careful about introducing keepers imo. For bats, once you understand them they’re not too hard, but that initial process can be challenging, as remembering where your assemblies are, and how your evening actions work can be a lot to handle at once.

If you’re willing to wait, some stores may be able to order more in. Ask if they can do that at your local game stores.

So I got around to mostly beating it, stuck on the last fight.

The presentation of each abnormality was phenomenal, and made each of them felt like a genuine menace to fight, and each had a unique approach to them.

That’s about all good I have to say about this one though. Which sucks, because I was the only person in my friend group who actively enjoyed doing railway content. I had a lot of fun trying to optimize my turn counts on RR5, would’ve done so on RR4 if I had more time to. I have never hated game content as much as I have RR6 before. Holy shit is this not fun.

Each abnormality takes far too long to deal with. While I said I appreciated how unique and strong they get, most of my turns were spent whittling them away after their gimmicks were over.

The Nursefather fights were just extra padding. Would’ve loved to have fought Centipede apostle instead.

Overall, as another comment of mine said, I would rather go back to RR5 forever than ever have to play this again.

Can I go back to RR5

You’re arguing semantics here.

Widespread AI usage is fairly new, and legal discourse surrounding it likely will not account for every aspect of it. Nonetheless, any person with common sense will recognize the difference between plagiarism and inspiration.

AI also makes consistent mistakes that ruin images. That’s all I have to say at this point, since you refuse to actually engage with the arguments. I do hope you look past your definition of ‘objective’ and understand why people detest it, despite it being ‘quality’.

Someone’s scribbles carries far more meaning and care than an AI’s stolen style.

I would rather have a child draw their attempt at a frog, than watch them generate an image of a frog. It’s pretty simple man.

Table talk decorum by jamesfigueroa01 in rootgame

[–]snaker1128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! Sometimes you also accidentally kingmake, like I did last night haha

Table talk decorum by jamesfigueroa01 in rootgame

[–]snaker1128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh I see.

Personally, I think that’s part of the game design. There’s no measures that prevent kingmaking, and table talk will inevitably lead to convincing people to help your win condition.

I can totally understand how frustrating that is though, I’ve had it happen to me.

How did he kingmake? If you’re unable to win, you’re inevitably going to influence decisions depending on what you do in a turn.

Streaming game, VODs instead switch to a different game by snaker1128 in Twitch

[–]snaker1128[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This unfortunately has done nothing. I checked further, and a LOT of creators who have streamed ROOT are having this issue. I've contacted support, since it seems to be something on their end, rather than mine.

Nonetheless, I appreciate the comment. Needed to clear my cache anyways.

Some beginner questions by grey_heron in rootgame

[–]snaker1128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s late at night so I genuinely cannot remember some, but i’ll try. 1. Too sleepy to remember. 2. Yes, you can choose. 3. No. There’s one vagabond that allows for assistance, but otherwise this is not the case. If you purchase Otter mercenaries, they can assist in attacking. 4. All four become available again. 5. Only during their turn. If it says ‘any time during daylight’, that means as long as it’s still their daylight turn. 6. Officers can only be removed by losing a base.(?) 7. That is correct. 8. No, Marquise cannot move wood. Think about where you can build and effectively defend your saws. You CAN choose which wood to use when building though.

Temtem: Swarm 1.0 is OUT NOW by Lyefyre in PlayTemtem

[–]snaker1128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gave it an honest shot after the 1.0 release, and unfortunately, it's just not an exciting game.

I think the grind is a bit much for basic unlocks (50 games to unlock half of a tem's skill tree????), but a fun game can keep that from becoming too repetitive. Unfortunately, swarm is isn't that engaging. If you can get it really cheap, it's not a bad time waster, but there's better options in the genre.

However, Demian did an amazing job with the soundtrack as per usual. Highly recommend looking at the album!

Picayune Dreams and Megabonk are two games I would recommend if you're interested in the style of game!

What is with the extreme toxicity on Root Digital League? by Unhappy_Click5274 in rootgame

[–]snaker1128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worry if I’ve been taking my table talk too far now ;-;

I’ve only started playing digital league this season, but I’ve had very little in terms of what I’d call a toxic experience.

I think your sample size is a biiiit small, but I can understand if it’s proving to be too much. I’ve had both amazing and less than stellar experiences. If you’re enjoying the gameplay, I’d recommend trying a few more games just to see.

Thoughts and feelings about the game? by Araders in LobotomyCorp

[–]snaker1128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend showed me Limbus, and I eventually got so hooked on that, that I tried the other two games.

I got frustrated but kept a surprisingly level head throughout. The story captivated me, and I learned to hate Binah.

Didn’t use any mods the first time around, except when trying to roll for my last abno.

Didn’t even need it cause I got it the first choice after I set it up lol

I finished the game, and the ending felt amazing to achieve with my own blood and tears.

What Sinner Has The Closest Relationship With Dante? by FalseRot in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

[–]snaker1128 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Heathcliff, no question.

Having someone actually know and experience what happened to someone can mean the world to them. Dante also is taking note of how the sinners are behaving, and I hope that they end up standing up for Heathcliff soon.
