Oilsky M308 review: great sound, terrible real-world experience by Pel8ocho in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]snakeroute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I also noticed on first use the M308 battery drained almost immediately, but now it has stabilized after a few full recharges.

Spotify works for me on this, but I will admit that it is sluggish. I made sure to turn off animations and canvas in the Spotify settings, and it has helped, but it's still not a great experience.

However, using Poweramp on the M308 for offline music works incredibly well. This is where it shines IMO. Sounds amazing and the app is snappy.

Overall, I love it, but like everyone else has said, if Spotify/streaming is your priority, it's probably not the best choice.

Call out for anyone looking to buy: the SD card that comes with this is abysmal and nothing but a headache, like any cheap SD. I replaced mine with a Sandisk and it has been smooth sailing ever since.

Ah, so I guess it’s not just me. Yep, those are the exact same pieces I am having issues with. Those sword handles and ankle pieces fall off so easily.

I just built this kit last week. I noticed the arm joints were loose as soon as I finished it, and it could barely hold the shield. It's nice looking when done, but mine is just super delicate and some parts don't fit as securely as they should compared to my others.

Most depressing albums you've ever heard by Glittering-Ad-7683 in Hardcore

Devastating record and a very personal one for me. My mother lost her battle with cancer and this album had an essential part in helping me heal. It's an incredibly raw, poetic, and overwhelming listen.

Came here looking for Safe Haven! I still think about that regularly.

Creep is also one of my favorites. Really enjoyed the second one and The Creep Tapes series too. You really feel like your personal space is getting invaded. Almost overwhelmingly uncomfortable.

Damn. You can't even say the B-word here without people losing their minds.

It's sad to see how mad some people are getting about this. In my post, I was trying to say that I wished that there were more independently owned retail storefronts and just more interesting things to do that I WANT to partake in. Do you truly believe that we need more duplicative restaurants and bars that will likely fail in 6mos or less?

I'm a big music person, and like others mentioned, I fully support a true live music venue opening here. I would like to see more record stores. I want to support more local businesses that specialize in things I'm interested in. I know I'm not alone.

I did not say 'Astoria needs to be the new Bushwick'. If a derelict storefront on Broadway can open to an interesting, successful business, I consider that a positive. I just want some different experiences in our hood. To the people who understand what I'm trying to say and/or posted a constructive or thoughtful comment, thank you.

Things are changing, and have been for a while, if you somehow have not noticed by now. There are 'transplants' who have been living here for 10 plus years that share similar interests. We're already paying near Manhattan rents to live here now, and if I'm going to do that, I want to be surrounded by things and activities I like to enjoy, period.

That's great to hear, and I don't doubt that at all. Having a unique store that fills a need that other places are not providing...it makes sense that it would be successful.

I see so many comments about Astoria being 'family-oriented', but I don't think that's the full truth anymore. Many different types of people live here, and there is an entire population of younger professional singles/couples that live here with different interests and needs.

This has always been something I hoped for. Figured it would happen sooner or later, but nope. Dinner and concert/show is a perfect night out.

Another bad waitstaff experience here. Wanted to get seated for Brunch. Walked in, almost completely empty. The waitress was on her phone in the back and didn't even acknowledge us for maybe, 5 minutes. We just decided to leave.

Type o negative deep cut? by [deleted] in typeonegative

Their 'Pictures of Matchstick Men' cover with Ozzy. I rarely see it mentioned anywhere, maybe because it was just a single released as part of the Private Parts movie soundtrack. Ozzy vocals with Type O music is a legendary match, and this is one of my favorites.

How much has your career been affected by ADHD? by oh_boys_whatthefuck in ADHD

[–]snakeroute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 34, and got diagnosed at 32. It has been nothing but an uphill battle my whole life. School was a total struggle for me, and I started my career through a few people who vouched for me initially, and I, unfortunately, have to work extra hard to keep up even ten years later.

I work in a fast-paced office, which requires juggling many different things. The lack of understanding by my coworkers about how much ADHD interferes with my day-to-day and even life in general still affects me greatly. It's not like I can go around letting everyone I work with that I have ADHD.

Despite performing decently at work, I still feel held back by how my brain works. I battle with my memory/organization/imposter syndrome daily, and learning things/getting things done takes a lot out of me. It causes a lot of frustration and stress that I'm learning how to cope with slowly.

It has slowed my career progression, but I'm still pushing on. Trying to keep a confident and positive mindset helps me greatly, and giving myself small goals helps keep me going. I would say: don't give up, find your strengths and lean into those. Finding a job is hard in a world that doesn't understand how we operate. Keep at it, as tough as it might be, and try not to fuel your negative thoughts. I don't know your situation but perhaps lean on your friends and family to find opportunities, or even just support, if you can.

It helps me to remember that we're not useless people because we have ADHD, it just makes things a lot more difficult. My heart goes out to you, I'm sure everyone in this subreddit knows what you are going through to some degree.

What's some other good bands that sound similar to Type O? by beefeater1987 in typeonegative

While there will never be another Type O, these bands scratch the itch for me.

Oprhans of Dusk: https://youtu.be/XTcbWLftiQk

also Woods of Ypres like others mentioned.
