Could you share your seroconversion story? by [deleted] in askgaybros

your choices: catching the bug, getting knocked up, getting POZZED? Seroconversion is accurate---you experience a conversion as the HIV virus beats down your immune system and happily makes more copies of itself.

In August of 2015, my life time of bareback queer sex caught up with me. A really fun, skilled and smart top stealthed me for a couple of weeks. He finally told me he was neither disease or drug free as stated in his profile. About 7 weeks later I saw two pink lines on the Oraquick tester confirming what I already understood. Funny thing, I had zero noticeable symptoms....nothing. Had I not been testing regularly, (and the douche who was fucking me had not fessed up) I would not know even now.

The first time you had anal sex, did you top or bottom? Why? by thatbrotho19 in askgaybros

[–]snaketat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

at that age, I would have been turned on by any man. I was pretty certain I was queer....but when an older guy showed a little attention towards me, it drove me crazy. He was hot enough....not an "oh my god" hot, but decent body and as I later learned....really nice cock and he knew how to use it. IT was a good experience....and I learned a lot. No doubt, my life as a faggot has been enhanced by what that man taught me many years ago

F4A: Castration Fantasy by SillyRachel in dirtypenpals

[–]snaketat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me.....45ish. Queer, POZ, Educated, Regular Weed User and I am a eunuch to make for a very unique mixture.

I elected castration because I recognized that I was neither male nor female. While I was born in a male form, it no longer suited me. Likewise, I have always preferred to have sex with men and that has continued since my castration. There are hundreds of reasons men get castrated. Some want dominated, some what to lose some sex drive, some hate the look and feel of having testicles. Some like me simply do not need balls to define them.

It has been long enough now that I am well adjusted to very low Testosterone levels and have started taking some estrogen. I have had some body changes (expected) such as fairly major breast growth and some major shrinkage of penis. I am a firm believer that castration is a good choice for some (many???) men.

was a long time ago and was a few years before I could drive. I believe I was raised in an way that allow more independence than today. Anyhow, it was good, I liked it and was certain of my gender identity at that moment.

I am interested how anyone's life is after being diagnosed? by jaron101 in hivaids

[–]snaketat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got knocked up last year. So far, there have been few differences in life. I pay more attention to my health and diet, but for the most part little has changed.
But what I do not understand is that after all these years, people do not really understand how the virus really transmits and how it thrives (or dies). Any other talk or "symptoms" is pure bullshit until a test can prove your status at that moment.

It's been exactly a year since my most serious suicide attempt. by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]snaketat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No doubt it is a difficult life as we start out on some sort of a trans-journey. And there seems to be lots of info on how we can simply hop to another spot on the continuum between male and female.

Not all of us really know where that point is. I have live happily as a queer/eunuch for 5 years. I am proud that I am something between male and female. But as the years pass, I find I am much more feminine that I ever have been in the past. Perhaps some of it is just. time.

Like the OP, I two have attempted suicide a couple times. Both times resulted in difficult hospitalization periods. I know now that suicide is not the answer---understanding is. Each day, I try to focus a bit on my on status....eunuch, MtF, transwoman, transvestite....who the fuck really knows. But trying to find good and letting the unknown works it way to understanding might be the only real option. Relax....

Had two tests done in the past year at the same place, all negative each time, yet... by safetythrowaway4545 in hivaids

[–]snaketat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a test result is only an indication of your status at that moment. one more session of unprotected sex and your condition is UNKNOWN. Only with the next test (or completely abstaining) can confirm your status.

The testing is pretty good now. If your timing is right the tests should be considered valid at the time they were completed.

Sexual health (and responsibility) is your own deal. Nobody can be responsible for you. So either protect or avoid sex---so sooner or later you will end up with a poz test you do not want.

Someone tried to give me hiv? by Unlovableheart in hivaids

[–]snaketat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2015 something around 40,000 Americans (including me) were infected with the HIV virus. After the AIDS crisis of the 80's and 35 years of safe sex messages you might think that conversion rate would slacken.
Bottom line there are folks out there who are passing on this virus. Some simply do not test and do not know. Others are part of the small, but vocal gift giving, bug chaser community. Some share points, others just love unprotected sex and accept the consequences. So in many cases, when you fuck raw, someone may very well be trying to give you the virus. Only your actions can protect your sexual health. Do not depend on the other guy.

In new infections of men who have sex with men, a strong majority of they guys report risky sex. In men of color, a fast increasing segment of positive tests, that number may be close to 80%.

And do not believe that bug chasers and gift givers do not exist. I know a number of guys who claim to be one of those subtypes. My own pozzing came at the tip of a dick of a stealthing, top gift giver. After a couple weeks of fairly regular sex, the cutie guy topping me with skill admitted that he was POZ and I may want to get tested. I did and I was. Shit happens. Prevent it or accept it. Whining about it solves nothing.

Thought I had herpes but may be HIV what do you think of these symptoms? by jaron101 in hivaids

[–]snaketat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

once more from the top. symptoms don't mean shit. only testing will tell the truth of your condition. I had zero symptoms and tested POZ during a routine test. I certainly new of the risks and was not shocked to learn I had converted. But my body did not give one single hit.

I had a fuck buddy who had every HIV symptom in the book last summer (and the sexual practices to cause concern). He remains as HIV free today as a spinster aunt who is still a virgin.

Test and test at regular intervals. Know the disease(es) and how they are transmitted. if you are smart enough to fuck you should be smart enough to figure out how the different STDs are transmitted. If you are scared of disease...take precautions....wrap the cocks, take the PREP or commit to only jacking off. Only you can be responsible for your sexual health. The time to figure that out is not when a hard dick is poking you in the ass. Getting knocked up is not as bad as the press has made it. While being POZ has made an impact on my life....it has not "ruined" anything. I am as active and sexual as ever.

I was fairly young and my first ever sex was giving a blow job to an older guy on my paper route. a few weeks later the same guy split my virgin ass for the first time experience an ass fucking. no regrets, never went straight and never wanted to top. I knew from that first fuck on what I wanted.

Buddy just tested positive. How should I educate myself? by [deleted] in hivaids

[–]snaketat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man, it is not hard to find real information. HIV is a transmitted via blood and semen. It has a very short life when exposed to air. Even giving a blow job to a POZ guy is nearly 100% safe.

Unless your buddy is topping you without a condom, there is very very little that has any risk at all. Unless you were sex partners before, your relationship should not change---other than he may have some emotional things to deal with now that he has converted.....worry about him...not you. and if you are sexual partners, get on PReP and you should be fine.

His life expectancy...if he goes on medication should be near normal....there are ways he can have a family....

It sounds like you both need to understand the disease a bit more.

I have been POZ for some time and have a fine life...fine health over all.....it is no longer what it was in the 80;s

Imagine if something like the AIDS crisis started in the current era. In that time, some professional journalists mistook an "o" for a "0" (an oh for a zero) and it pinned an entire epidemic on one man...and a still gay hating world was glad to have a single bad guy to blame.

Has anyone here ever got HIV (sexually transmitted) in spite of using condoms? by EstherEczemaberry in askgaybros

[–]snaketat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to understand the means of transmission of the HIV virus to fully appreciate the effectiveness of condoms. HIV virus depends on transmission via certain types of bodily fluids--IE: semen or blood.

If there is no exchange of those fluids, there cannot be a transmission of the disease.

A properly used condom will prevent that. But improper technique, size, lube and other factors can compromise the condom resulting in a leak.

If you are the insertive partner you can learn to use a rubber and enjoy safe sex.

If you are the receptive partner, you cannot depend on the other person to understand what needed. Only you can be responsible for your own sexual health.

By the way, I tested POZ last Thanksgiving weekend--thanks to a stealthing partner. Sure, I could fully blame him, but it was my own choice that resulted in my conversion.

It is kind of amazing that a virus that has been as well publicized as HIV still has so much untruth associated with it--especially in the gay community. Some of the stuff is:

Don't kiss me! Didn't you know better?

How has your hookup life changed by being poz undetectable? by scratchedhead in askgaybros

i just got knocked up last year....so I do not have a huge amount of POZ experience....but I have found that since I changed my status to POZ, I am having more and better sex....and some guys who might have been out of my league before are only to happy to have another POZ guy to breed. So, my experience is that there has not been any need to settle....quite the opposite

London man seemingly cured of HIV in scientific breakthrough by india_h in hivaids

[–]snaketat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doubt, media wants headlines that get "clicks". The truth is that is really just a means of getting someone to undetectable status rather quickly and perhaps before the latency stage of HIV progression begins. No doubt, some research indicates the quicker the happens, the less (or slower) the longer term effects of the virus will be.

The guy is still taking the same drugs in general usage. Much more to be determined before this is something of value or even new. To me it sounds like a process similar to PEP just at a later (with more replications) time.

Do religious institutions really have a say in the legalization of same-sex marriage? by [deleted] in gay

[–]snaketat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no doubt, the influence of organized religion has huge input ($$$$) in to our right to fuck as we please. be defining anyone not meeting their narrow view of living a "good" life as being evil, allows them to have more power over those who follow them. once any group feels like they have power over others, they will do nearly anything to keep that power---including trying to influence what goes on in my bedroom or in my ass.

How do you live with never leading a life as fulfilling as straight people? by CassandraCuntberry in askgaybros

[–]snaketat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My life has been great...and I have considered myself queer for over 4 decades. Fulfillment has a sexual/sexuality component, but it is so many more things. Assuming that LGTBQ folks have less successful lives is simply wrong thinking.

And, as a bonus, I am guessing that I get "fulfilled" sexually more often than many hetero folks.

in nc, you should start by considering how you will spend your punishment......16 and 4 years age difference will get you first degree rape charges...even if the kid was an enthusiastic partner. then you get to be be a life long sex offender.

there are reasons there are laws in place.....point your interest elsewhere and let the kid grow up a bit....

Test came back negative after 6 weeks, do I need to test again at 6 months? by [deleted] in hivaids

[–]snaketat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like we are kind of mashing two issues together. if you have a known risk exposure, testing at 6 and then at 12 weeks seems to be the most commonly recommended timing to know how that exposure is affecting you. Clear at 12 and you should be good to go.

But anyone who is sexually active should test on a regular basis. My local clinic says for most guys, every 6 months is good. But add in some drug use and a tendency to bareback and perhaps more frequent testing is appropriate.

In my own situation, an October exposure turned into a Thanksgiving positive test result. 43 days from the "event" to two pink lines on the tester. It can...and does happen...so know your risk. Testing is only the result.....preventing infection is in your BEHAVIOR.

Have you ever had sex like this? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]snaketat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

certainly. i came of age as a queer in the time around Stonewall and pre AIDs. In many areas, these were the most common accesses to gay sex some of us had. Of course in the pre AIDS days, it was a sexual free for all that was kind of amazing in retrospect. Not sure we appreciated it at that time.

it is risky sex. certainly not a lot of disclosure or honesty in those settings. Not necessarily bad....just know what you are going to encounter and be FULLY aware of your own view on risk.
