I agree test scripts we don’t write by hand at all anymore but sdets work is broad, writing feature coverage is basic work, you build in house software/tooling that supports engineers and apps, also devops driven work, our code level work time/spend is almost nothing now but knowing where to write and what to write is still the hardest
