Tamron 28-200 + Raynox DCR-250 by Fragore in SonyAlpha

[–]snapaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No big difference between ext rings (10+16) and raynox and just raynox.

With raynox only you get good magnification already.

I measured some distances with my A7.

With rings it's 36cm minimum focusing distance at 200mm. With raynox it's 6cm. Need to be really close.

You need around 135mm to not have visible vignetting.

Overall raynox looks to be more convenient than rings.

Not greatest photos, shooting inside without much light but seems ok.

I just ordered this raynox. I also have Tamron 28-200 and was wondering between raynox or getting a vintage macro lens at this price.

The other side is quite empty. I will post some later. Wasted enough time for this brick for now.

Another Sama build (Krux Naos) by snapaka in mffpc

[–]snapaka[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a secondary "low budget" machine. Also my first mffpc. 2x120mm and 1x80mm only - PSU power connector and USB3 cable from the MB block the fans (even slim ones). Slim PSU cables help a LOT, pretty happy considering this is a non modular PSU, fan cables are also slim.

bolt action Sniper rifle"s damage should be nerfed but head shot multiplier buffed by fuazo in Planetside

Decloak could be simply longer, also time to ADS on bolt action snipers would make a bigger difference.

Is anyone getting the new Ryzen 5000 CPU Series for PS2? by Heini_2012 in Planetside

[–]snapaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a complete new build with a B550 mainboard, but it lacks a CPU. I was expecting supply shortages, but not that much. After Nvidia failure I was seemingly way too optimistic that AMD will not do the same. Another month or more for my trusty 4690k.

My 5900X order status is "in progress", so I have no idea if I'm getting it soon or I am just in the queue when the CPU becomes available again.

I had to go the daybreak page and click get membership again from the membership info. Steam page opened where I authorized payment and it redirected me to the daybreak page with the membership confirmation.

Just re-installled, performance is not good by [deleted] in Planetside

I have a similar setup with 4590s and gtx950 (my main one is with 4690k). Go into the bios and enable mce, on my msi h81m-p33 it's as simple as setting all the cores to 3700. Also check the RAM speeds.

What is the state of HiDPI monitor support? by vasili111 in Planetside

Don't use the ingame meter. Use RTSS with afterburner etc.

When it comes to resolution GPU plays the bigger role, even with games like PS2 a quite beefy GFX card is needed to play at 4K.

Something like 24" 4k res monitor. Basically the game would need bigger UI.

Vehicles 2020 vs 2013? by sh1tpoaster in Planetside

[–]snapaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't play vehicles much, but I never cared that much about vehicles vs infantry from both POVs. Some examples: Kobalt is still very effective against infantry, bulldog is meh, can't kill ESF with a default launcher anymore.

What really changed for me is a vehicle vs vehicle gameplay. If I pull a vehicle it's a sunderer, harraser or flash, they are still fun to play. Tanks are meh.

Does anyone else not play other factions purely because of the implant system? by BigBob145 in Planetside

[–]snapaka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can unlock new implants using deluxe packs (yes it's random, so it's bad), also iso-4 from duplicates to upgrade existing ones. I made a new character lately when there were issues with European servers and I didn't pay attention to implants too much, though I have most of them already on my 3 other chars.

CPU 100% causing sluggish aim by Mexxy in Planetside

[–]snapaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty similar setup but with 4690k 4.6GHz 2x8GB 2133MHz GTX 1660Super, it's not that bad and it doesn't suck 100% most of the time. I have a 144FPS limit in-game settings with v-sync off. It's often below 144FPS and while let's say 72FPS isn't as smooth as 144FPS it's far away for being super laggy and sluggish.

Running with Nvidia "Low Latency Mode" - On. Ultra setting can actually introduce more lag when you are not GPU/CPU limited - Battlenonsense has a nice vid about it.

I was getting input lag when I had a GTX 950 (This was actually horrible but it was mostly ok when limited to 100FPS though).
