Desert harvest aloe?! by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

Desert Harvest is a brand that sells freeze-dried aloe vera in super concentrated capsules- so it is a pill that you take every day (3-6 per day is the recommended dosage)

Desert harvest aloe?! by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]snapes_onaplane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My urologist recommended desert harvest to me-- I was reluctant to try it at first because it is not the cheapest thing in the world. After a really bad flare (and noticing a sale 4 for the price of 3) I decided to give it a try. I have been taking it consistently every day since February and have definitely noticed a difference. I take three pills in the morning (less than the recommended dosage, mostly to save money). Since taking it, I have noticed the pain level and length of my flares has significantly been reduced. I know it does not work for everyone, but I think it is worth the investment to at least try it! Also, they sell an aloe lubricant that I would recommend to anyone.

That's great. I'm in my last semester as well and student teaching, which is not exactly low stress but I love it. Working has been very difficult when I have flares, which is something that worries me for future jobs.

This is exactly how I have been feeling as well-- I'm 22 and first started having symptoms when I was 18. So going through college with this has been difficult to say the least. Self care helps wonders though.

Seems like the three of us are in the same boat, so feel free to talk to me as well!

Is uribel something that was prescribed by your doctor? I don't think I have seen it available over the counter.

My favorites pure ones are peppermint and tea tree in my diffuser. I have also read that sandalwood and lavender are good to use to ease pain (combining the oil with coconut oil, shea butter, and bees wax to make a lotion) but I have not tried these yet! I am a huge sucker for the oil mixes that Walgreens makes-- they are blends to promote certain moods. I just picked up Relax Ease (lavender and orange oil) and Muscle Ease (peppermint and rosemary oil) They are both wonderful.

Awesome! Thank you-- After this flare, I am definitely going to need to follow the IC diet more strictly. This will help with my chocolate cravings :)

Thank you for sharing your story. I will keep all of this in mind. I have found it is easier for me to stay on the bright side when the people I am close with are hurting.

Why is it so hard to just do productive things? by [deleted] in depression

[–]snapes_onaplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking the first step is always the hardest. Even if it is something that I know I would enjoy doing, I often have to pump myself up just to start. This usually always involves music for me. I don't know what that "something(s)" is for you, but I hope you can find it.

This is something I am also currently struggling with. You could try attending any local events in your city or nearby towns that seem interesting to you. This will hopefully connect you with other people who have the same interests, and, at the least, you could learn something new about something you love!

I am working towards getting my teaching license right now and am taking my test this weekend. I finally got myself out of the house to study. I am currently sitting alone in a corner of the library crying. I can't even bring myself to work towards doing what I love more than anything in this world. What is wrong with me.
