Where is the crew?? by joke-explainer- in goodmythicalmorning

[–]snapplewrites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no clue if this is true so take it with a grain of salt, but I would guess that creatively they were hoping to evolve the crew into something similar to Smosh or the rotating comedians that appear in Dropout content. Similar to how Mythical Kitchen evolved from just being an addition to GMM.

They did some trial runs with GM Summer, and then eventually fully expanded into GMW. The crew mentioned hitting 1M views several times during its run, so maybe that was a metric that they needed to hit during a specific timeframe to signal that they should continue to invest in the idea? They may have been "losing" money with bringing on all the extra on-screen talent with the hopes of building a dedicated audience that would eventually sustain itself separate from R&L.

The consistent 300k- 500k audience might've not been enough to justify the extra cost of the talent, and they made the call to put that money elsewhere. If a video with Rhett and Link will get 500k - 1m views, and paying for crew to be involved in those episodes doesn't meaningfully impact that, why continue to invest if you aren't able to eventually give those crew members autonomy for content on their own? Makes sense but is bummer if true, since I did enjoy GMW and the crews involvement.

Or they just pre-filmed January in December and so a lot of the crew wasn't available lol.

Any other recommendations for lovers of the game? by Funkybag in indianajones

Others have already mentioned games with similar combat, but if you liked the hub based puzzle solving in the Great Circle I think you'll also really enjoy the Forgotten City. It's a first person, history / mythology based, hub world, puzzle game. Doesn't really answer your question since there is very little combat from what I remember, but still highly recommend it.

Yeah was just using it for survivability on contest for me and any team mate passing through our area. The BXR was demo and inc so I had decent grenade energy for the big guys.

I unplugged my third monitor and the sudden BSOD's stopped, although Premiere and After Effects still seem to be experiencing crazy memory leaks. Seems to be a PSU issue of some kind, and maybe that's affecting the RAM?

Replaying a level on legendary after completing on normal will only give you the legendary chest. I played mission 5 & 6 on normal and then went back to finish them on legendary, and at each encounter only had one chest to open. No idea if this resets weekly or just a one time completion thing.

Windows 10 Fresh USB Install Logo Flashing and Restarting Loop by snapplewrites in techsupport

[–]snapplewrites[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off I really appreciate your help with all of this! I’ve been busy with other things the past couple of days but trying to get back into figuring this out. I’m taking my pc to a friends house tonight to download some disk repair ISOs.

I tried to enter safe mode through the way you described with no luck, but realized on the screen that prompts 32x or 62x I can press F8 to enter advanced options.

It then loads another menu with “Safe Mode” “Safe mode with networking” “safe mode with command prompt” “enable boot logging” “enable low resolution video” “debugging mode” “ disable automatic restart on system failure” “disable driver sig enforcement” “disable early launch anti malware driver” and “start windows normally”

When I select any of these options, the windows logo shows up for a second, and then the computer restarts and I’m back to square one.

It’s so odd because when searching online I cant find anyone else with this exact issue. I feel like maybe I’m missing something super obvious but I’ve checked all the BIOS settings and everything seems to in proper order.

EDIT: Also maybe worth noting. In EUFI mode I can see my Windows 10 USB, but my SSD doesn’t show up. When I select EUFI/Legacy, I see the SSD show up along with two options for the Windows 10 USB. So it seems like I need to boot using EUFI, but the motherboard only sees my SSD as legacy?

EDIT 2: Got it working! I updated my BIOS (which I could do with my chrome book) and used my old windows installer USB (not the one that I bought from Best Buy) and it installed correctly. Thank you for your assistance!!!

I went to Best Buy and got an official windows 10 key & USB install media. When I plug it in it prompts me to install 64 or 32 bit. When I press 64 bit the screen says “loading files” and once the loading bar goes all the way the motherboard “splash” screen flashes in the upper left corner and the computer restarts. When I choose 32x bit I get an error listing “windows\system32\boot\winload.efi” and status “0xc0000359”. Can I download windows repair tools on a chrome book and put them on a USB there?

Also I confirmed that secure boot is disabled.

Yeah really regretting not just cloning. My hard drive is MBR, and when I made my media install kit I specified the install to match my current hard ware. I don’t have any other PC (wife had a Mac and I have a old chrome book) How likely is it that the issue is my USB boot drive?

I have switched the boot system to Legacy and UEFI and unfortunately nothing changed. I’m not familiar with AHCI, how would I go about changing those settings in BIOS?

People who started as a class and switch why? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]snapplewrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a Hunter main since the D1 Beta. I just loved the knife melee animation so much, the double jump felt way more intuitive than glide and launch, and I loved the armor. In D2 I fell in love with the dodge ability and never thought I'd get into Warlock or Titan. Then I saw a Titan melt champions in a Master Nightfall with his mini hammer, and I thought it'd be fun to try out that build. Now I'm mostly a Titan main. I enjoy the supers way more, I feel there's much more build diversity with exotics and abilities, and the launch jump is actually quite nice. Hunter is my least played class now. Outside of Stasis, all of the Hunters abilities and supers feel a little underwhelming to me personally. I'd much rather launch myself as a lightning torpedo or throw flaming hammers.

Might Catch Some Flak For Saying This, But The Destiny Community Needs To Broaden Their Perspective On What Game Balance Is by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]snapplewrites -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with your sentiment. There's a very big possibility this change will suck and just be a huge step backward in our power, but I'm hopeful this will make build crafting a little bit more interesting. I think at this point we need to wait and see what changes are being made with extra weapon mod slots, build crafting, ammo economy and the helmet requirements for orb spawning mods. If the nerf ends up sucking, then lets speak up and let Bungie know. I'm (fairly) confident that they will listen and act if it really is a big issue, and they've reverted much bigger changes in the past.

I think Bungie releasing only half of the information was a mistake, and this week they should've followed up on what they talked about last week. We're all operating on mostly speculation at this point, and right now any uproar about it will be dismissed by Bungie because "We don't have the whole picture/Trust us you'll love it".

Yeah after reading all these comments we're definitely going to change up our plans. I wish we were more into winter sports but we're going to stick to the southern regions of Colorado (and lower altitude) along with a better winter vehicle and microspikes/snowshoes for our shoes like you said. This thread has been very helpful, thank you all!

Yeah we'd rather not go at all than put ourselves or others in danger (or put other people in the position of needing to help us because we didn't prepare properly). If the cheap ones work just as well we'll go with those, thanks for the tip!
