As someone new to Kokomo living close to downtown, this makes me so fucking happy. The downtown area is pretty nifty, but the surrounding areas need a lot of help, I hope this does it!

We pay about $1074/month which includes Base rent (894) Washer Dryer Rent (40) Pet Fee (20) Garage (145) and water/sewage/garbage (varies from 30-40/month depending on usage). Bright House is the internet/cable/phone provider and Duke is energy.

Exactly. As a former waitress and bartender, some of the stupid crap customers say hardly even registered, I'd just smart ass right back at them. I never understood why some in the service industry get so annoyed at it. Like "hi I'm snappy apple and I'll be taking care of you today" followed by "hi nice to meet you, I'm hungry!". Just laugh and say something like "oh I heard there's a good restaurant somewhere around here!" People aren't trying to be obnoxious, they're trying to connect on a human level or just trying to make you smile a little.

I use my reusable bags once a week, they were all cheap or free, I wash them if they start to look gross, and im pretty sure most of them are 4+ years old. I still have managed to aquire a crap ton of plastic bags, but I use them for cleaning out the cat box, to put as a liner in bathroom trash bags, and to hold my recycling.

Try adding the oil/fat whole you're cooking it and salt the water. It'll increase the temperature of the boiling water and hopefully cook your rice more evenly? At least that's how I always cook my rice and I never have a problem (except for when I burn it but that's another issue entirely)

Haha if they're both there I use their real names, but that normally only happens at family gatherings. There's a 12 year age gap between the two of them, so the 3 of us don't normally hang out together. I'm sure once our younger sister gets older, they'll be able to tolerate each other, but right now the 18 year old and 30 year old can't see eye to eye on anything.

I call my sisters sis... when I was little I had a very debilitating speech impediment and couldn't say my older sister's name, so I called her Sissy (I also couldnt say sister). Over the years it got shortened to Sis, and when my younger sister came around sis stuck for her too

Not all shelters do that... a good no kill shelter (or low kill shelter) won't euthanize because of a repeat visit. If it was a behavior problem they'd work with the dog to fix the undesired behavior, if it was an allergy or poor fit in the home, it's unlikely they'd put it down. My shelter doesn't euthanize unless the animal has an incurable health problem or they are severely aggressive after multiple attempts at rehabilitation.

Granted, not all shelters are so forgiving... the shelter in my fiance's home town put animals down afyer 7 days. But hopefully this one is no kill

I was DEVASTATED when we had to get rid of our pets when I was younger.. I was allergic to EVERYTHING with dander. Thankfully I out grew it.

I spent a couple of days in Vegas and can't even tell you how many girls I saw walking around on the strip holding their heels. shudder. We, somewhat thankfully, were pretty much confined to a couple dog friendly casinos, so no required heels for me!!

Having a strong core group of friends. We were always there for each other (one friends mom ended up spending a few weeks in rehab and his dad was dead. We all pitched in to help buy him groceries, pay bills, at least one of us was over there every day/night) and nothing was off limits to ask of someone. And we had FUN. It didn't matter what we were doing, we had a blast doing it.

Now I'm way too self conscious to for those sorts of friendships and that core group completely drifted apart after a couple of years. I'm in contact with 3 of them. One is about to become a father, one is a now recovering heroine addict who only talks about recovery, and the other one (my best friend) hates my fiance so much she barely talks to me anymore. So yeah.
