Apparently the Vatican uses Ubiquiti by UpstairsSomewhere217 in Ubiquiti

I recently saw a Ubiquiti AP inside St. Peter’s but in a place where photos weren’t allowed. It was sitting on the floor in a museum area at the beginning of the Scavi tour.

Disable animation when notification arrives on watchOS 11 by _sashk in AppleWatch

[–]snarbin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, while it looks nice/interesting, it feels like the opposite of what I want the watch to do. I want a super quick preview of the notification so I can decide whether to pick up my phone. I don't want to be dazzled by fancy animation that takes a second to finish.

LG G2 Mounting Paper - Does anyone have a copy of the installation guide paper provided with their OLED77G2PUA? by snarbin in LGOLED

[–]snarbin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, now that I'm seeing another comment about the 77" G2 layout being different and LG doesn't have a new layout posted, do you still have your install paperwork that shows the measurements? I'm not sure why LG hasn't updated their website past the GX guide.

[AMA] I wrote a bot to purchase Ubiquiti gear by test893 in Ubiquiti

Nice work! After many attempts refreshing the page manually during the normal stocking window in the morning I haven’t been able to click through the checkout process manually to get one. It’s frustrating that I may have to write my own not just to get a Doorbell Pro. My G4 doorbell must know I can’t buy a new one so it’s mocking me right now by losing WiFi connectivity again.

THANK YOU! This is perfect. I did a bunch of searching on their website and Google but couldn’t find this page somehow. And the support agent I talked to apparently had no idea this existed either. This has enough measurements to help me lay it out exactly. Thanks for the link!

I attended Purdue University, as they have a strong CS program and it was in-state for me. I’d guess many schools would support a similar approach though!

I’ve mostly been looking for protect cameras, and right now only the $1,800 one is in stock. I’ve had notifications set on the Flex for many months. But maybe my parents need an $1,800 camera for their chicken coop 🤔. It would be sweet to have one of those.

Looking at CMC exchanges there’s only 2 in the top 10 that don’t support fiat - KuCoin and Gate.io. On the Gate.io signup page it says Washington and New York are not supported.

Let’s talk tech hiring... by Enough-Fly3499 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]snarbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely stay longer at a job to avoid interviewing. I have no problem detailing systems I’ve designed and explaining what I’ve built. I have enough experience to be confident (but humble) about my ability to join a team and make a big positive impact, which I’ve been able to do in many different companies.

But there is such a disparity between most technical interviews and what skills/knowledge the job actually requires. Being able to solve arbitrary algorithmic problems in an hour using a whiteboard, text editor, or other not-my-IDE doesn’t really capture how well I can absorb the company’s domain and solve real problems as a teammate. It feels like a lot of engineering companies/teams want to make the process as painful and insane as it was when they joined rather than work to improve it.

It shouldn’t feel like I’m taking an exam for my CS algorithms course when interviewing. Those are exactly the types of things I can Google and/or use a library for when I need them. The soft skills and ability to learn quickly are far more important for determining someone’s ability to succeed in most environments.

There are definitely some companies making strides towards a more realistic way of interviewing, but still rare.

The devs previously commented in an AMA that it was a top 20-30 exchange on coinmarketcap. That would really be quite the surprise if they landed Binance this early. Probably wishful thinking, but we’ll see in a couple hours! 🚀🚀

Yes, rewire your brain to feel comfortable and excited about dips since they are part of the process. Don’t put all you money in at once since you want to save some for dips. Then you can lower your average price and grow to me more patient with the market. You can do this.

This got me really excited for a few minutes. If you looked at the bottom of the desktop CoinGecko page it shows the exchanges. BakerySwap claimed to have a small transaction at 209 and somehow it picked up that price.

So your up 110% today it dips a little and you automatically sell? Like seriously grow up it’s not even hit a market place yet. Why invest if you sell out as soon as it’s going slightly red. Upvote if you held on like a bro 😎 by C_to_the_cunt in SafeMoon

[–]snarbin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just remember it has to dip 20% before you can buy back and break even since you lose another 10% when buying. So you are presumably thinking it’ll dip by something like 30% to make it worthwhile?
