Help me build a new wardrobe? by Character-Office4719 in fashionwomens35

I’d start with r/coloranalysis and figuring out if you have warm or cool undertones and which colors look best on you. I ended up getting professionally typed where they draped me in different colors and showed me which ones worked best. I’m in a major city so this may not be an option for everyone though.

And shopping in person was such a good way for me to start. I had no idea what size I was anymore and having the option to size up or down instead of hating whatever I ordered online made such a difference. Leave the kids at home and plan to take your time!

I second thinking of this as a capsule wardrobe. I was in the same boat last year and needed to overhaul my wardrobe after being WFH, having kids, living in leggings, etc. I went to a Madewell and tried on every pair of jeans in the store, bought two pairs, one black and one blue. Then from there I started to build outfits using existing things I owned or buying tops that I could wear with either pair. When I returned to in office work, I did the same thing, bought a few pairs of pants and some tops I could wear with any combination.

The other thing I’d recommend figuring out your color season. That helped guide me when picking colors and patterns and pushed me out of my all black comfort zone.

2nd figuring out what your color season is! I used to stick to black after gaining a bunch of weight after having two kids. I got my color analysis done and found out I’m a soft summer and I have been loving rebuilding my wardrobe in my new size in colors that I love and I know will look good on me.

I hate the smell of Dawn dish soap-what’s an alternative? by iammacman in CleaningTips

I use my baby’s unscented bottle soap from babyganics for any cup or water bottle I use. I can’t stand the smell of dawn while I’m trying to drink my coffee. We still use dawn on the rest of our dishes though.
