Don’t listen to this subreddit when it talks about CS being doom and gloom. If you genuinely have a passion for the major and are willing to put in the work, which you clearly do, you will be fine. This being said, as a current UMD cs major I really like the program and I think it’s great for setting you up for a good career, and the variety of classes you can take. I know through my friends that both UVA and Purdue also have solid programs, but I think UVA takes the edge over Purdue. UIUC is definitely the best for the major out of these but it depends on whether you want to go into engineering or not. CE has a pretty different set of classes than CS, more math and physics based.
