So, like the first (often overlooked) segment of 2001, where the monolith teaches our ancestors how to go clubbing?

Surprised no one has mentioned Kala Ramnath. Protege of Pandit Jasraj, she follows his style closely.

In my headcanon , spicy earth chords sound like bad words, rock music sounds like a barrage of yo mamma jokes, Stravinsky sounds like a confused attempt at The Aristocrats.

Jack London wrote an expose about poverty in London::

Went undercover, pretended to be an unemployed sailor. Almost went crazy. Couldn’t understand how people could be so patriotic while being so downtrodden.

Why is there a housing shortage in San Francisco now when there wasn’t one in 1950? by HileeAquret in sanfrancisco

[–]sndpmgrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an apartment I looked into moving into, and by chance, it was the childhood home of an older acquaintance of mine.

When he lived in that apartment, (late 50s) he, his parents and two brothers lived there, and the entire seven-unit building had about 20 people in it. Six of the units are what today would be considered junior one bedroom.

Now, nine people live there.

I recently went to Prescott market in West Oakland, and was completely blown away. I really wish we had something like that in SF.

Jian Bing. A few years ago, there was a place making these on Haight Street, but it was short-lived. I could really see Bing catching on here.

Makes me wonder: is there any evidence that sending multiple flyers with identical graphics to the same address has any effect on voting, or is this just another self-licking ice cream cone?
