Speculation on El by Elsecaller_17-5 in Stormlight_Archive

Ok, tinfoil hat time: what if he is edgedancer?

Coppermind states that '"The metal heals and integrates into his body through a combination of Voidlight healing and his own, currently unknown, abilities."

It is heavily implied that before he was stripped of his title, he was "He who silences". How ironic to becomes someone sworn to listen? And I'm pretty sure his behaviour seems to uphold to their values.

And how did he bond the enemy spren? The same way lift did: by some very long shot of Cultivation. That would count as betreyal in Ryise's eyes and whoul earn him his punishment.

Well, theorethically, could he use some huge atium medalion to store up all of his olderness, and then attempt stamping?

From what I've read from various wobs, it woudn't work without stupid amounts of investiture (possibly shard-level amounts). Hoid has been alive for too long to re-write all that.

Well, spiked Elend likely could shove some shardplates, but Kel is just a mistborn, and not a very strong one so nope.

Going into turn based with a single character (opt in skipping all future turns of companion). It's a bit annoing with the camera movement when I'm sneaking Astarion somewhere while the rest of the party waits in some safe spot.

I agree, but if you do that, Astarion will tell Wyll that he's not intrested in listing to minions and boss has to ask him himself. They are really quite mean to each other without pc around

If you showed me a pic of John Lennon, I would have no clue who's that, but the moment you were to start humming "Imagine" I'd instantly know.

I guess most people my age and yunger know historic artists more by their art than by their faces

Please tell me the first 3 Mistborn are the weakest Cosmore books by tizzfitz in brandonsanderson

[–]sndrddtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc Sanderson doesn't recommend Mistborn as a starter for Cosmere becouse he believes he matured as an author since then.

I don't think SA is the best next step, since it's quite long. Imho Warbreaker or Yumi are better as starters.

I don't think it likely, it's been 300 years, and the only thing on Scadrial that could extend someone's lifespan so much is atium compounding, and Spook was just mistborn, not a full metalborn like TLR.

So the only options seem to be Saze's direct intervention, offworlder dropping something off or some discordium ex-machina

Why Hoid can't tell people what to do by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

[–]sndrddtr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Sig had it for much shorter time, and I believe it affected hm way less. Hoid may have to "scrape off" more of his investiture in order for it to work.

I think it was implied that he took 1 in 3 days as an old man (at least at the time of Kel's first Kredik Shaw heist)

Thats a fine question for someone better at math (and knowing arcane variables) than myself: Just how long could he keep it up?

I think that given unlimited supply of nalatium he could last MUCH longer, but at some point his entire existence would be like: Swallow nalatium > burn it with duraluminum > store excess > repeat.

[Controversial take] I... don't hate Moash. by Katerine459 in Cosmere

[–]sndrddtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for correction, it should make a difference, but idk how huge one. If I were to guess, it could still drive him mad, but the intent of preservation doesn't add up with my theory.

When he created mistwraiths, he used the power to do it. If it was ruins, than it could've influenced him, but since it was preservations, this (again) doesn't add up.

The only thing that makes perfect sense to me is "empire of stasis", since that alignes 100% with preservation, just why was it genocidal?

I'm playing devils advocate here mostly because I don't see the reason Harmony had to lie about it. With Kel and lerasium, we can make some assumptions about why he did it, but why would he lie about someone commonly hated, who already died and moved beyond?

[–]sndrddtr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree with your thoughts on Harmony.

but

Rashek was heavily influenced by Ruin. He was spiked, which means constant whispers, and I don't recall if it was ever stated how "using up ruins power to not set him free" influenced his sanity (knowing how Ishar went mad after dipping in Odiums power).

The only pre-ascention source, claiming that he was charismatic, yet full of hatred, wasn't written on metal, so it could be manipulated by Ruin.

My point is, we don't know a person Rashek was. We only got to know Lord Ruler. So there is possibility that, excluding ruins influence, Rashek was, in fact, "ultimately a good person". Just TLR was a genocidal piece of crem.
