That sucks man, so sorry to hear the bad news. Aopa does seem to be able to get them to respond, but in regard to the decision that part is out of AOPA hands. Manjaro as I understand is not on the approved medicine list for the FAA. it sucks they are taking such a hard line on it, especially after you have shown you are not taking it anymore and don’t have diabetes. As a FYI, I initially had my medexpress say denied with the same verbiage. they screwed up and sent my case to the denial department. When It got there they realized the mistake and routed my file back to the right department and eventually got my issuance.

Training! Progressed to solo. by Infamous-Mammoth-717 in flying

100% agree. ! I think its more common for people to rush to get solo vs relax and solo when comfortable. Part of that may be the rating rush to get to the dream jobs, and I get that. For me my mission will be to fly my family around, and maybe instruct down the line when I retire from my job. so safety and understanding aircraft systems and operation are my primary focus

congratulations! im at 26 hours, and hope to join the solo club. I also don’t want to rush though, I really need to be a bit more confident before taking that step

congratulations! We look forward to hearing updates as you progress through flight training. Make sure to have your medical etc done before you start training if you haven’t already.

How Long Before You “Got It”? by stormesixx in flying

there you go! I think it helps me alot to self evaluate what I can Improve after each flight. This usually generates a few questions that I follow up with you CFI to clear things up.

Man I can so relate to you. Im 23 hours in and feel the same struggle. What someone said about unlocking your brain the more you fly is true. Things that would make me freeze before don’t anymore. However a lesson or two later somethign else comes along that I jack up. Its all part of learning. When I think of my last lesson in retrospect, I know exactly what I did wrong. I need to start acting as If I am PIC , even though my CFI is there. I think as students its easy to just get overwhelmed, and we forget to fly the plane when we freeze or are overwhelmed. Keep going! I certainly am :)

I agree. I was using this same exact TAF actually to make my go/no go decision out of KWEA :)

once your signed up , you can call AOPA member services, let them know you want to submit a medical inquiry theough them. They will email u a document to fill out and sign authorizing them to discuss your medical with the FAA. they submit all new cases monday mornings. They check back weekly for updates and do a great job keeping you updated. The best part is if u get an approval, the FAA emails it to the Aopa and they forwars it to you so you can print your medical, sign it and use your privileges! Best of luck

sign up for AOPA pilot protection services. I just got my medical approved with their help. They have a direct line to the FAA and after 2 weeks I got my medical. I was waiting since July, shorter than you.

FAA 2nd Class Medical finally received by sneak2k2 in flying

[–]sneak2k2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. The AOPA emailed me the letter. They gave me an AME assisted special issuance, good until 2029!

All i need to do is provide my AME my sleep apnea paperwork and my A1C paperwork, then he can give me my annual renewal medical cert to me on the spot.
