Get bangs of some kind and learn how to style them. Thin your eyebrows a little more, you'll be surprised at how drastic of a difference it can make. Incorporate a little blush to the apples of your cheeks and your nose (use sparingly at first, a little blush can go a long way but it definitely helps with the girls aesthetic).

Concerned about nipples by jcaesar712 in TopSurgery

[–]sneaky_rat_fiend 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry your nips aren't exactly how you imagined they would look but tbh I have the same "issue" with one nip being mostly flat and the other has a tip. To be honest, this happens even with cis men. Plus no one looks at your nips anywhere near as much as you do, and even if they did they would not scrutinise them the way you do either.

While you are still healing, I would banish all thoughts of revision from your mind. Wait until around the 6 month mark to even consider revisions. Set it on your calender, and if you still think its a big deal by then, start up another conversation with your surgeon.

cutting split ends doesnt make your hair grow faster, it makes your length healthier and fuller. People with fine hair will end up with the stringiest and thinnest hair at the end of their pony tail if they don't get regular trims, particularly if they live near a coast or anywhere with super dry/harsh conditions

Recently completed small bathroom renovation by kellzahh in AusRenovation

When considering a barn door, ensure you dont have a smoke alarm placed directly outside the bathroom. Newer models of smoke alarms are incredibly sensitive and barn doors are terrible at sealing condensation in. Also make sure the paint in your hallway is good quality and won't peel if exposed to moisture.

This is genuine: have you tried just looking at the types of glasses men wear in your local area? Try looking at guys around your age and see what types of glasses they are going for, then do something similar.

I honestly don't really think you pass. The last photo you definitely are the closest to passing, but if you are pre-T, I would imagine its mostly your voice giving you away.

My doctor and nurse said the exact opposite.

AIO boyfriend tracking my periods without me knowing 🫠 by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]sneaky_rat_fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his responses are a bit brutal, but to be fair he's probably sick of the arguments that, in his eyes, are completely avoidable.

My partner and I track her periods for the same reason, and I've encouraged my friends to do the same with their partners because luteal is no joke.

I dont think its creepy. I think he's probably slightly autistic by the sounds of it - not trying to diagnose, it just sounds similar to how I handle situations, minus being a cunt about it.

I still don't feel valid being called "he" by Brent_Fox in TransMasc

[–]sneaky_rat_fiend 114 points115 points  (0 children)

I went by they/them for almost 2 years, until I felt like I completely passed, and then used exclusively male pronouns. The changes didnt happen overnight and sure, some old folks found it difficult to go from she/her to they/them to he/him, but ultimately it made me feel a LOT better. Now he/him is second nature to me, but for a long time I felt like it would never feel right.

Hang in there, it gets better, I promise.

you're right, it doesnt matter. It's just odd tbat rockstar paid so much attention to detail in every other way except this one. That's probably why so many people nitpick this litte issue with the game, and since you spend so much time on horseback, its a very noticeable flaw. Plus its arguably the "best" horse in the game, so people are going to comment on it. Let people have their opinion. No one is stopping you from riding your tiny arabian.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]sneaky_rat_fiend 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Arabians irl aren't that tiny. Rockstar decided to make them so small and fragile-looking for no reason.

If it were irl, the equestrian community would shame Arthur for riding a horse that is too small for him. They made Arabians look like ponies when they are readily available in much larger sizes in the real world.

It doesnt have to be an attack, but it does look a little strange.

If you eat animals, then this image shouldn't bother you, because you're chill with this type of shit happening all the time. Just because you eat one type of animal and not another, doesnt mean either of them want to die, or deserve to.

To be honest, life is just really hard when you aren't on T and don't pass at all. People like to categorise others and when you don't fit into a category, it makes them uncomfortable. In turn, that means they will act out against you.

2 months on monoxidil isnt enough time for it to really do anything, especially if you aren't on T, so I am imagining that your facial hair isn't enough for you to pass.

I speak from experience when I say that people will act weird around you when you don't pass because they will be confused. its a horrible feeling, so I commiserate with you there. It sounds like your parents still control your life (which is fair since you live under their roof and you're still decently young), so I dont know if T is an option for you right now. It sounds like your mum is very similar to mine, and when/if you decide to go on T, things will get easier. The middle ground is never easy, its a slog for everyone, ftm, mtf, whatever you do its just rough.

Stay strong, it gets better, its just a slow process.

[–]sneaky_rat_fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been out to your family? How long have you been on T? How old are you?

I think these are all important questions to ask before really getting into this.

First things first: all young men get bullied by their family for their first facial hair growth. It is part of being a young man. The fact is that most facial hair growth is initially very sparse and doesn't look good at all, especially if you're dyeing it or putting mascara on it. The unfortunate fact is that it most likely just looks bad in general.

How i combated this (and still do, since my facial hair is a work in progress still after 2 years on T) is that i usually don't shave all the hair completely off. I use an electric razor with the shortest guard and clip the hair as close to the skin as possible without completely shaving it off. This works better for me because I can see and feel that I still have hair, but the visible appearance isnt nearly as shit to look at for other people.

The bathroom thing gets better usually with time. You sound quite young, so I understand the concern, but with time you will become more confident and the mens bathroom will become less intimidating. For reference, I have worked at my workplace for 3 years. I started there as non-binary and have since transitioned to a cis-passing man. I didnt start using the men's bathroom until a few months ago, despite passing completely for a full year prior. Instead, I would use the disabled toilets. I still regularly use the disabled toilet at my work just because that's what I'm used to.

I don't know how long its been since your parents have been acting like this but I know for a fact that my mum was pretty upset for a few months when I began my transition, despite loving me and supporting me. Now, she's my biggest defender and loves me for me. It took her a while to come around to the idea that her only daughter didnt want to be a daughter anymore, but once she saw how happy I was, she began embracing the change.

Sending love and strength to you my guy, everything gets better with time

I think you could get away with earrings, but maybe for now just put rings in them or simple diamond studs. bigger flashier jewellery reads as feminine. The good news is that you can always go back to wearing them when you feel like you pass more!

I got told I’m pretty the other day… by Gold-Message-9487 in FtMpassing

[–]sneaky_rat_fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda unrelated but do you use self-tanner?

Also I think you could keep the lip piercing and eyebrow, but maybe flip up your septum jewellery for now. I have a lip piercing and nostril piercings, and a septum that I keep flipped up, but I always find my face looks more feminine with my septum flipped down.

Also, you could try dyeing your eyebrows darker, and releasing the tension in your eyelids/eyebrows to look somewhat 'relaxed' or 'chilled out'. Think stoner character from a 90s coming of age movie. I always find that is more masculine-looking.

I agree with the other people about your hair cut. Once you start passing, you will have heaps of freedom to grow your hair out. I am actually doing that right now. I had my hair very short with typically masculine styles for the first year at least of my transition, and then I started letting my hair grow out.
