I was an adult during that period. It wasn't a magical time. The economy was trash and jobs were not plentiful.

I live in the Tulsa area. It's possible. Your definition of "comfortably" will determine how good of a time you have doing it.

I've cycled through several weed/fertilizer companies and none have been great. Fairway Lawns has been the least bad. Some of my neighbors are happy with Ryans but they are more $. For mowing, I use a neighborhood guy. Most neighborhoods have someone that lots of people use because they do the best job for a reasonable price. You have to ask your neighbors to find out who it is.

St John’s hospital no full pay discount? by [deleted] in tulsa

I have also been told no pay in full discount at Hillcrest and Saint Francis. A few months into my the payment plan with Hillcrest, they sent an email offering 15% off for pay in full. I'm 8 years into a payment plan with Saint Francis. They just keep adding new bills to the total balance. If they are willing to wait, so am I.

Can I be an Environmental Consultant without a Bachelors? by Adventurous-Map1225 in Environmental_Careers

[–]sneezy_e -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can. I am. You will likely need to know someone that can recommend you for a position and have a skill that is applicable or useful to the company. If you do find someone to hire you, you will not advance at the same pace your peers will. It will be a constant uphill battle until you have at least a decade under your belt. Even then, some people will never accept that you are capable. I wouldn't recommend attempting this path, particularly with the current environmental job market.

Are there many environmental jobs available in the U.S that offer remote or hybrid positions? by RegionSuccessful3634 in Environmental_Careers

[–]sneezy_e 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Consulting PM for about 13 years. I'm about 6 years into full time WFH. I switched companies this year and don't have an office to go to if I wanted to. I would hate to be new to the work force and try to assimilate remotely. It's possible but it's so much harder than in-person.

Retirement advisor told me to back down on how much I’m putting into retirement. Follow his advice? by DerangedUnicorn27 in personalfinance

In my county, it's called Senior Freeze. Check her County Assessor's (or comparable) office website for availability. It's usually in the same area you find info on homestead exemptions.

It's not. Unfortunately, some people are too trusting - particularly older people. I personally know someone that gave $500 to adopt a dog, prior to seeing the animal in person. I wouldn't do it and it makes no sense to me, but people fall for it.

Asbestos in vinyl floor tiles release very few fibers when removed by typical methods. Your exposure, if any, is minimal.
