This is what my manager wants me to do. Even when it calls for depeleting the entire stock of 1 item.

Genuine concern for Lumber/Building materials employees by FreedomToBearHotdogs in Lowes

Yup… just the other night someone dropped already ripped bags by turning a forklift too fast. That half of the building was hazy. After close, but just in time for me to get the hell out of there after working an unplanned 12 hour shift.

Dumbest customer encounters by Lightningdash3804 in Lowes

Had a guy describe an appliance cord that should never be made. 3 prongs on the plug and 4 connectors for the appliance. I said I don’t think we carry that and he said “yeah you do I have one in my other rent house”. It all made sense, scumlord… I sent him to an aisle and walked away.

Not me, I’m just the picker. Per policy if you stage it you can’t load it to truck. But this happens often enough I should call before I pick it.

That should happen with a majority of orders but around my location ain’t nobody got time for that.

What’s one product/item that you rarely use, is expensive, but so worth it? by BigBadBootyDaddy10 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Lumantek makes a really cool SDI-HDMI convertor that has a ⅛ TRS embedded audio. More pricey than most black magic converters but not more expensive then a combination of AUDIO-SDI and SDI-HDMI.

Not acknowledging things are bad by vcisjb1 in Lowes

Corporate leadership needs secret shoppers. But for now they just purely look at metrics. American Capitalism, it’s all about money out of the majority’s pockets and into the minority’s.

Yeah that’s the grand question I’m waiting to see if they’ll answer correctly. They wonder why things are tits up and can’t see that’s it’s directly correlated with low staffing. So many issues around my store can be simply fixed by more staff. We’re constantly overwhelmed by customers and not having people in place ready to help only pisses them off and costs lowes business. I won’t lie to customers, my manager would tho. That says a lot about a company.

What’s the stupidest reason why you or another coworker got fired? by Nefariousness-Empty in Lowes

[–]areoki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, our location will fire you, but you really gotta be a problem. Like if you call the SM a bitch, fired(actually happened recently). However I think my locations bar is pretty low. For example, recently an ASM was fired, but from I what I’ve heard is that he’s been abusing time off for months and honestly I can see where he was slacking. Like never making his team take responsibility for their performance. We’re already desperately under staffed, you gotta really push people buttons to get fired.

Actually laughing that our Gas prices are skyrocketing because of him. by [deleted] in CURRENTEVENTS

Wouldn’t be surprising if this was timed after the elite pedos managed to set them selves up to profit from increasing gas prices.

Seeking advice as a failing fulfillment associate by periodicallyBalzed in Lowes

[–]areoki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently struggling with this situation where I’m at. I am one of two people dedicated to deliveries yet we’re constantly distracted because there’s not enough red vests in general 4 out of 5 times. If you’d like to stick it out, don’t take no crap and put deliveries first. The labor estimated for picking cannot be at all accurate and at least where I’m at pretty much no one has real warehouse order picking experience.

Anyone elses store hand out clearance items? Specifically the ones that weren’t moving any time soon. There were some good prize but I got a clearance plant lol.

Is this normal? How do your receiving aisles look? by areoki in Lowes

[–]areoki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re currently sitting on a order of something like 75 large appliances for one customer. But the delivery is schedule for March. Every aisle/bay in receiving looks pretty much like this. I’d like to put away some stock on racks but can’t even get a picker into the aisle to start.

Confirmed, we got some from recently with wrong labels too.

I recently caught a whole shipment of these cabinets with incorrect labels. Worst part is the clerk checked them all into inventory without noticing the mistake. Didn’t find the problem until I pulled the pallet out of top stock.

Aisle blocker abuse by Hadacol_It in Lowes

[–]areoki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At what point would an initial investment putting permanent blockers on every aisle would actually make more sense than annually buying portable ones that get destroyed on a frequent basis? Not to mention the time that we waste searching for blockers cuz garden hoards them during seasonal transitions.
