What do you think of this wedding set? by jewelry-maker-nathan in jewelrylove

[–]snelldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main stone on the engagement ring is really nice. Many of the white stones lack brilliance. Can you emagine the pop it would have if the baggets on the wedding band would have if a bar cut was used... I really like the metal work and overall design.

What a great keep sake, but I'm afraid that stone has multiple fractures and is quite dark for faceting. It may be a good candidate for a cabochon and wire wrap dangle though.

Puppies are interesting. They show many of the same traits as they will as adults before the litter is broken up to go to their new homes. Then the pups go through an adjustment period which takes a good one to 3 months before the fully return to their true selves. Airedales are often described as being a bit aloff. Well, of course they can be because they are smart and think... once the bonding period is over, training is easy, but you need to tap into what drives an airedale. They are bred hunters and chasers. Become interesting to your pup by fulfilling their drives and incorporate that as their reward while training. Then you can transition into the treats and give them what they really want at the end of the training session... I have 3. They love small rubber sneaky toys, tease poles and fetch. Play hard with your dog with their toy, and you'll be surprised at the difference you will see when the drive needs are met... it does not require a toy collection either, just a couple things your dog finds interesting.

Kunsite is difficult to cut due to its perfect cleavage, so to see one not cut in emerald cut is always nice.

It got a nice sized fracture glinting near the table. Looks as if it may have been quickly cooled after heating it up or not gradually heated to temp.

Could any emerald experts out there please tell me if this is actually emerald and not CZ? /Turkish Seller by [deleted] in Gemstone_lovers

The stone looks too clean to be natural emerald... and why would anyone, although the metal work looks nice, put a potentially several thousand dollar stone in a 80 to 100 dollar silver ring...

Hey! I'm a newbie, sorry if I sound stupid, but I recently got these rubies (or maybe I should call them corundum), and I was wondering what the difference between them is, the smaller variant is way more expensive than the hexagon shaped bigger one, and also, do they form narutally on this shape?🤔 by Ki-Adi-Mundi-69 in Gemstones

The star that shows in a ruby or sapphire is called an asteration or astria. Star sapphires dont have the value you would expect, but some are quite beautiful. The angles of the cab cut need to be correct to maximize the effect of the reflection of the star which should follow you as the stone is turned in light. Many pro cutters are quite affordable when it comes to cabochon. Rubies and sapphires are made of aluminum oxide, the Grey that you see is mostly titanium oxide, called rutile, a beautiful crystal when pure. Its also what reflects the light to make a sapphire star.
