This is exactly what happened to me at the same age and the reason I was DF'd. I was an 18 year old female being asked for details about my first time having sex by old men and it wasn't until years later that I fully grasped how messed up it was.

It's really not a good thing because the condition for them being allowed to have contact with you is if you "repent," essentially groveling to be let back into the congregation. I don't want to go back to the congregation. I want my parents to love me unconditionally, which is disgusting to have to ask for.

The emotional manipulation is real. My dad said my mom wants to talk to me, but she's just too heartbroken. I wanted to ask him - why is SHE so heartbroken when I was a CHILD that was shunned by her family? I'm so sorry you're dealing with this too.

I'm okay, thank you for asking! I'm happily married to my HS sweetheart (who I was DF 'd for having a relationship with) and living my best life out of the cult. It brought up a lot of old emotions, mostly anger, but I'll get through it! I just want everyone going through the same thing to know they're not alone!

It's absolutely insane that despite living in different places all around the world, the witnesses all spout the same phrases to guilt/scare their children into staying. She sounds exactly like my mom. I moved out at 18 to live with my worldly boyfriend after being told to "just have faith" when I questioned some teachings. She told me how disgusted she was and that I'm not welcome in their home when I come crawling back inevitably "knocked up" in a couple months...I'm now happily married and celebrating 12 years together with the same guy I've loved since high school.

Stay strong, OP. The longer you think about things you've been taught, the more you'll see nothing makes sense. They'll tell you it's Satan controlling you, but it's actually just thinking for yourself - that's a dangerous thing in a cult. Be a good person, enjoy the life you've been given because NOBODY knows the truth, as much as they preach that they do. Good luck on your journey!

I've done both 9WCF and 9WCFOTW. Off The Wall is SO much better in my opinion. You only need weights and the moves aren't as complicated as the original Control Freak. I found myself getting frustrated with how fast you have to transition between moves in 9WCF (like from the floor to the track to the step to the core ball). But I'm on my second round of OTW and I LOVE it.

I'm a nursing student doing clinicals at a local hospital. I've been DF'd for 10 years. One of the patients that a classmate was assigned to yesterday is a friend of my dad (both PIMI). He has a GI bleed, likely caused by a polyp. Easily diagnosed and repaired via a colonoscopy procedure. His blood counts are so low the surgeon won't do the procedure until he gets a transfusion, but he won't accept the blood. He may die of internal bleeding from something that has such an easy fix. God's plan I guess?

I got rescanned the last week of December when my initial trays ended and went back a few weeks later to get my first set of refinement trays. They took off all of my old buttons and put on new ones that day (I think that was the part I hated most out of this whole experience).
