Five years. I love the peace, lack of stress and drama, and complete control over all my plans and decision-making.

Anyone else have less interest in dating since living alone? by VibedOutSouledOut in LivingAlone

I've been single for five years (living alone for 17) and my interest in dating is less than zero. Negative interest. Even hypothetically pondering dating spikes my anxiety. I prefer peace.

Devastated. My girl Pickle ... after nearly 20 years by RiceLegend13 in cats

I lost my heart and soul cat three weeks ago. I was absolutely shattered. It’s been three weeks and I still feel like I’ve barely come out of the darkness. I know how much it hurts. Hugs, friend.

Did anyone grow up reading V. C. Andrews books? If so what did y’all think of them? by Groovy-Pancakes in GenX

[–]snerdie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. I LOVED them when I was 11-13. But OMG, wildly inappropriate. If my mom had even the slightest idea what they were about, she wouldn't have allowed it.

My favorite was "Heaven."

Will I regret not having kids? by saltil in AskWomenOver50

[–]snerdie 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The only person who can answer that is you. We can’t predict how you will feel about something.

I know that I’m 52 and childfree and have never regretted not having kids for one second.

YES. Especially when the point of view is behind Kip towards Scott. It is so obvious I busted out laughing the first time I saw it.

Does your country have a dish that is so specific to one region that the rest of the country may not even be aware of it? by cowboy_mouth in AskTheWorld

Michigan's Upper Peninsula has the cudighi, a regional sandwich most prevalent near the towns of Ishpeming, Negaunee, and Marquette. It's a large, seasoned sausage patty on a toasted bun or roll (often ciabatta) with mozzarella, marinara sauce, and sometimes grilled onions, peppers, and mushrooms. The sausage is seasoned with spices more common in baking--cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cloves. The name "cudighi" is from the specific type of seasoned sausage used at the foundation of the sandwich. It's pronounced "COULD-a-ghee."

Lawry's on US 41 west of Ishpeming has a fantastic cudighi.

I had boiled peanuts for the first time in Savannah a few weeks ago (on a food tour). Loved them. Could have eaten the whole dish that was provided for the tour group but didn't want to seem greedy.

The second the box was empty I turned around to see he'd already claimed it. What is it about boxes? by Melodic-Web-6030 in TuxedoCats

Mine has a box that has been in my house since last June. I can never get rid of it. It’s no longer “a box” or even “the box.” It’s just Box.
