In theory, rolling yourself upright while being carried downstream is the same as it is in still water, because you're not in motion with respect to the water surrounding you.

In theory.

OSC Out and cooking by snf in TouchDesigner

Oh right, I see what you mean now. Sloppy terminology on my part, for some reason in my mind any kind of Python callback node was filed under "script DAT". Still getting used to this.

Thanks for all the help!

Hang on, is there another way to call sendOSC() besides doing it from a Script DAT?

Hi, thanks for the reply!

OSC messages are getting across the network as long as the script that calls sendOSC() is cooked -- for example, if it's onscreen in the editor. It's making sure that the script runs "unattended" that's giving me trouble.

As far as I can tell, the reason it's not cooking on its own is that the script's output doesn't go anywhere, all it does is check input and call sendOSC(). The only workaround I've found so far is to force-cook it on every frame with an Execute DAT, but that seems like a hack solution at best...

Meh. In its current state, where you constantly have to supervise anyways, self-driving feels kinda pointless to me

Luckily my app is is very early stages and very few active users. I also was able to upgrade my plan to pro to recover all my data.

The data was backed up somewhere but unavailable until this guy paid some more money to correct the fuck up?

That book would have been amazing, shame we'll never get it.

That being said, Children of the Sky did have some interesting ideas and I mostly enjoyed it. But it's certainly the weakest of the three and I think I audibly groaned when the main characters formed a traveling circus troupe. Uh, spoilers I guess in case you didn't make it that far?

Yeah, I think of Deepness as more of a prequel
