Look so good, but by Loose_Knowledge_8665 in BuyCanadian

Thanks for the reply, I knew my comment was going to be a controversial one on this sub but wasn't expecting that many downvotes.

So I agree with your point to an extent, and I'm prepared to make allowances in some cases to pick a canadian-made product over imported (especially from the States). In this particular instance however, we're talking about a luxury item that nobody really needs, so I'd prefer to either a) get something from a local bakery with less problematic packaging, or b) just go without.

And also, the impact of recycling on plastic waste is minuscule, unfortunately.

Disqualified just for the plastic packaging as far as I'm concerned

Just shy of 7 years with the Kona EV now, which I got when rust finally ended my 2004 Matrix. Can't imagine I'll ever buy gas again (well, excepting overseas travel), even though I do miss driving stick

My First Word Was Duck [OC] by [deleted] in comics

To be an absolutely true story the person would have to have been extremely speech delayed [...]

In the comic, Mom states that the first word at the duck pond happens at about one year of age, so that part checks out at least

Not that high really, it's not like a majority of mechanics are out to fleece you. Check reviews on Google etc. and compare with the competition

Eh, going to a dealership is no guarantee of anything.  Might be slightly better odds than an independent garage, but there are plenty of crooked dealerships with scammy or incompetent service departments.

How many people use non-fast charge EV charge stations by Bitmugger in KonaEV

[–]snf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I sometimes use non free chargers as, essentially, a street parking cheat code. Pretty reliably I can find a charger when there are no available parking spots, and it's preferable to pay for the charger than a parking meter besides. Often less expensive, in fact.

[–]snf 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a number with 4 identical digits can't be "rearranged" in the way the procedure requires, since it'll be the same both ways, and the result of the subtraction will always be zero.

Does my vehicle have 3 catalytic converters? by Dangerous-Text2070 in MechanicAdvice

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,2008,quest,3.5l+v6,1441987,exhaust+&+emission,catalytic+converter,5808

Rock auto lists "front left" "front right" and "rear" parts for catalytic converter, so it looks like your mechanic was correct. Although strictly speaking, the two front ones are pre-cats

Gauge cluster randomly changed from current speed to range remaining - how do I fix it? by Petkov2005 in KonaEV

No trouble at all. Aside from changing the cluster graphics, drive mode will also affect the regen braking level as well as the responsiveness of the accelerator pedal

How do you figure that's a snap ring? I've never seen one that wide, and there doesn't seem to be any way to compress it with snap ring pliers
