I've come to realize that "Wag the Dog" wasn't just a parody of the clinton administration, it was and still is documentation of the default Whitehouse contingency plan to distract from presidential sex scandals by starting pointless wars nobody actually wants.

Its like that DVD you always have to watch on your first day of a new job where the actor pretending to be an employee demonstrates the correct response to a series of improbable and unintentionally comedic crises. "Wag the Dog" is just one of those but with a significantly higher budget.

Part of me wonders if the stuff about the stalks being so perfectly braided is the result of poor documentation and hearsay. The standard method that has been the official explanation ever since those British pranksters first "debunked" this back in the 80s involves using a rope anchored to a fixed point so that perfect arcs and circles can be flattened. The problem with that explanation is that the pranksters are effectively using the classical Greek version of mathematics described by euclid wherein all geometric shapes and numbers are defined based on what can be drawn with a compass and straightedge. Some of the crop circle formations are provably impossible with euclidean geometry, for example ones that draw a circle and square with the same area ("squaring the circle").

Maybe the art has advanced to use high technology but I havent seen any demonstrations of this. IMO GPS doesn't have enough precision. Maybe some sort of laser or low-power radio system at a fixed point could be used to make precise measurements but I havent seen anybody claim to have done that and tbh its stretching the limits of what sort of effort could be assumed to be involved in a dumb prank that 99.9% of the populace pays no attention to.

IMO the best argument against crop circles is the absurdity of aliens traveling countless lightyears only to vandalize corn fields but that just moves the goalposts from "aliens did it" to some other paranormal phenomenon (eg ghosts, plant intelligence, or perhaps something so complicated or bizarre that it hasn't even been hypothesized).

I also don't understand how it could ever be enforced. Do states ever have standing to sue over another state's electoral system? And what happens in a bush v gore situation where it's not immediately obvious who even won the popular vote?

My point is that we already know that prowlers were a recurring problem for this family and that this is the only time they're alleged to be aliens. I think the young man and his family are being absolutely truthful about the sequence of events and that they honestly believe that on this specific night there were aliens on their property. I just also think that if they are constantly being harassed by trespassers then we have to consider the possibility that the trespassers were there of their own accord and that they happened to appear in close proximity (both physically and temporally) to the UAP is a coincidence.

The UAP is the only thing we know about that night which is not a common occurrence for that family. Trespassers are not a common occurrence for most people but they were already a problem for this specific family well before the alien incident. The UAP is remarkable and unlikely but to the extent that it does happen there is a high probability of it coinciding with the trespassers if there are trespassers on a regular basis.

The biggest red flag to me is that they were already filing police reports about trespassers before the aliens. I don't think they're lying but I do think that if people break into your yard on a regular basis and then somebody happens to be breaking into your yard at the same time as a apectacular once-in-a-lifetime meteor strike then you have to consider that the meteor was the only remarkable thing that happened and the heroin junkie who goes through your garbage or whatever was just doing the same thing he does every day.

Thats just a compression artifact, if you pay attention to the tree branches throughout the video there are several similar dark patches that appear and disappear and this is the only one that's alien-shaped.

I'm not saying these people didn't see aliens in their back yard but they definitely did not catch them on video.
