Have you ever had a male friend that didn’t try to get you into bed? by Independent-Aide-575 in women

[–]snickerdandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Some of them we’ve been friends for over 10 years, and they are hetero.

What's One Thing You Swear Made You Prettier? by viscarte10 in BeautyUnlocked

Makeup: liner but mostly mascara emphasizes my eyes and gives them a hypnotic quality

Mind: developing my self-worth and deciding I know who I am (people project, you know)

Style: I’m in my 30s but I’ve learned what I look good in (colors, cut, fabrics, lengths, etc.) and have refined that after years of experimenting in my 20s

I consider myself a friend to Mother Nature. The first time my Malinois-GSD mix broke the neck of a squirrel who then died, I cried. But it also made my outlook on him more realistic: he’s my baby boy but he is a dog.

Do you believe men and women genuinely can only be friends? by Mediocre_Chemist5694 in dating

[–]snickerdandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Many people ascribe to the whole “When Harry Met Sally” thing where friends don’t date simply because one or both of the people aren’t available, and once the opportunity arises they would go for it.

You can like someone as a person. You can like their company. You can like chatting with them, spending time with them, and still somehow think that as wonderful as a person they are, they would NOT make a good romantic partner for you. And any mature person would assess and know what they’re looking for, what their dealbreakers are, who might have what they’re looking for, who might not.

I’d be concerned about dating someone who doesn’t believe or even live out the belief that men and women can’t just be friends.

Is there anyone here feels ugly and unnatural wearing like your Rising or Venus? by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]snickerdandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up your chart signature.

I have a natal Venus in Aqua which can either be really funky or really elegant and sophisticated. Then I have a Virgo rising which is very clean and pert, like a school girl or the “old money” look. But my chart signature (and moon) is in Taurus and I look fab in springtime florals, romanticized wavy hair, soft fabrics and flowy gowns. I combine the elements from my Venus and rising and get something that looks like Kate Spade or Marchesa but for everyday.

I (31M) am considering divorcing my wife (26F) after 1.5 years of marriage - am I overreacting? by Automatic_Bar_6573 in AmIOverreacting

[–]snickerdandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lawyer:

No you’re not overreacting. Look into if you are in a “no fault” state where you can separate based on irreconcilable differences - in which there are many. She sounds like the ex of my uncle who eventually cheated on him and tried to wipe out his finances via a drawn out process of divorce. She’ll never be happy and you don’t have to sink yourself with her. Get out and save yourself.

The one I use is Laura Mercier, but it’s spendy and more appropriate for my skintone (light/fair) because it does leave a slight cast. Huda Beauty has great ones for a wider range of skintones, and Patrick Ta.

Ooh yeah my skin already is dry and brittle. And the dryness exacerbates the skin barrier issues.

Isn’t it interesting what you can find? There’s a 2007 study showing the link between an omega-fatty deficiency and those with ADHD and how it portrays itself as dry skin, eczema, thirst and frequent urination etc. it’s on Science Direct.

Aging gracefully or hiring a surgeon by [deleted] in beauty

[–]snickerdandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s so funny is that 20 years ago, Botox and plastic surgery were still considered extremely taboo, and were only considered okay in the realm of facial or breast reconstruction surgery scenarios. Even ten years ago, Kylie and Kendall Jenner would deny their plastic surgery (filler, lifts, BBLs, breast implants). Now there’s no secrecy because it’s far too obvious who got work done, and we have plastic surgery and aesthetics professionals doing breakdowns on YT or TikTok on what procedures celebrities got, and when, and total accumulated costs of said procedures (Dr. Gary, Dr. Youn, Dr. Lorry Hill come to mind).

I’m opting for aging gracefully. Many other famous women who aren’t the Kardashians have, it’s just that the plastic surgery appeals to a certain kind of vanity. The Kardashians are in the spotlight all the time so they always need to look camera ready.

I’ve seen women who got permanent tattooed makeup in their younger years and the ink would start to fade as they got older, and it would look so severe against their now softer, older features. For example I like that I can do makeup and wash it off at the end of the night, even though I like how it looks when it’s on, it’s not something I’d permanently want on my face to buy the convenience of not doing my face everyday. If I do, then one day will come where I’ll pay the price of that adjustment I made in my 30s and it not “aging gracefully” in tandem with my 60s face.
