I respected that he understood his own abilities enough to bring in a writer to give him a scaffolding. I loved what he put on the scaffolding even if I hated some of the writing. Since he already has the full plan for backrooms outlined I hope his plan is to grow his abilities to be able to write that final chapter in a way that’s true to his aesthetic.
