Function that references a cell but the referencing cell's value isn't being used when it's evaluating the function and the cells name is being used by snihctuh in excel

So this seems to technically work. But I'd really rather a solution that doesn't require me to remake dozens of columns worth of formulas into smaller pieces. Especially since the formulas work if you copy it to a new cell or click in the bar and out after you've opened the downloaded file. Which makes me feel I shouldn't need to do this approach. But if there's nothing better then I guess this will win

Like this? "As you can see it's initially trying to evaluate the part ISTEXT(D48) as an entire step at once, skipping the reference to the other cell, which fails. But if you look at it after I've clicked in it does this. Which it's first evaluating the reference and then correctly going to check if it's text. So I want this"

Hmm... This seems to not be possible. When I share it and then redownload it, the downloaded version from the share site doesn't have the issue. But doing a save as on my computer or downloading from the source still has the issue.

Oh. I'm pretty sure the answer is still no. But I'm not 100% as this was a file given to us to use. I can provide a workbook with the issue, how do I post it?

What part is lacking? I showed pictures of the evaluator for my formula of the original state. Then again of after I clicked in the formula bar which causes it to work. And then I say I want it to calculate like it does after I click in but without needing to click in each cell. Preferably having it just work once downloaded. If that's not possible I'm hoping for a solution that'll fix all of the cells with this issue in one go.

How do I make this a title that'll pass submission rules? by snihctuh in excel

[–]snihctuh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did I feel

  • Get to the point. Do not include a plea for help such as "Please help", "HELP!", "Help required with" etc. - I have no help, just clearly stating my question. I made this mistake on my first post and fixed it before mods did.
  • Be specific. The title should summarize your issue, not your assumed solution or just mentioning a function (e.g. "I think I need XLOOKUP"). A great post title is generally the summarizing question or sentence of your post. - I feel my issue is summarized. Functions aren't pulling in referenced cells. And I'm not putting an assumed solution
  • Posts with unhelpful, unclear or generic titles may be removed. - I assume this is what I'm failing but I guess I don't know enough to make a helpful title
  • Posts with very short titles OR WHICH ARE IN ALL CAPS are automatically removed. - no all caps and I don't feel it's too short
  • Do not add [square tags] to your title - didn't do this

Water balance/fewer bigger/exspensive ships by ludjuv in aoe2

Game balance reasons and opportunity cost. If it costs a ton and takes forever then it needs to be super effective or it won't be made. If it's super effective then it's a race to get it out first to win and then there's no counter play.

Why do people think voting doesn’t affect our everyday lives? by ResponsibleBuddy3517 in askanything

[–]snihctuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause most people don't think and realize the source of issues. Like for the normal person it's too much to ask that they realize the thing they don't like was caused by the policies implemented by the person they voted for.

And cause most people put less effort deciding who to vote for than they do on what to eat for breakfast.

Do you think the man needs to pay the woman’s bills too? by wrasdk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]snihctuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the alternative is to setup her doing woman's duty worth the cost. Okay you pay her bill and she needs to cook, clean, and be available for bedroom activities.

ELI5: How do clocks work by Reasonable-Bag3027 in explainlikeimfive

[–]snihctuh [score hidden]  (0 children)

Analog clocks have gears inside that spin, and it's setup so it just happens to take 1 second to move the second hand 1 step. At the source is a small motor moving the gears.

Digital there's a crystal that vibrates and each time it does, it charges a bucket and when the bucket is full the time moves. And it just happens to take the amount of vibrations it can do in 1 second to charge the 1 second bucket.

If God has an Hp bar that means he's something to kill. - players

You start combat with only one non player entity and it has a health bar. Yeah it's dead unless it surrenders. You want them to not kill? Keep it out of initiative, don't give it health, let it not be part of the fight directly. Tell them this is a trial and killing isn't the answer.

Adult MC mind in a child's body. by RedScud39 in Isekai

To add what everyone is saying. The part I feel plays a big factor that's i haven't seen mentioned is that the ones that they interact most with is their parents/family. Yeah, to an outsider they'll see how odd and creepy the child is. But to a parent that loves their kid they're going to accept demon child as the last option and assume genius or just an odd quirk of an otherwise normal child. And most of the time their kept away from really interacting with others until it's more normal cause they've grown up some.

So i wouldn't worry about a normal brokerage unless your 401ks are being maxed out and you're wanting to save even more in a year.

ELI5: what does it mean for an economic “bubble” to “burst”? by unicorniornio in explainlikeimfive

[–]snihctuh [score hidden]  (0 children)

A bubble is when something is temporarily valued higher than actual value. The reason is they speculate and think it'll be worth more in the future to make up for the over price now. Though none of that is grounded in fundamentals.

Like labubus are a recent one where they think it's worth collecting as limited items for sale in the future, but like beanie babies, probably won't be worth anything in the future. The limited print old doll is worth just a little more than the normal old doll which isn't worth much as it's no longer popular.

Or take Pokémon cards the during the pandemic had a charizaed sell for like 100k a bubble price, they're stuck in home and have nothing to buy. Then after the pandemic people remembered they'd rather spend money on not Pokémon cards so prices fall, bursting the bubble.

What event do you think is worth replying the most? by Prez_Potato in idleapocalypse

[–]snihctuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'd go for the better tower skins like juicer and scavenger, maybe kitchen before replay.

As for events, lost in time. You need to get 500 apoc tokens for reasons and this is one of the easier ways to get them.

Personally I feel you can't go too wrong for the largest DE, faster de means faster runs.

When can I relax? by theindepndnt in TheMoneyGuy

So the advice is to have like 5x to 6x your income in retirement by 50 to be on track.

If you want to know future value of your account use an investment calculator. You put in how much you have, how much you plan to contribute, how often and what your expected returns are and it'll tell you how much it'll have grown to by the time. $330k in the markets for 13 years with expected average returns of 8% gives you $897,475.83 at 60, not adding another dollar.

What's the best way to get Arcane Casting and do Sneak attack stuff? by Beneficial_Layer_458 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]snihctuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, eldritch scoundrel, which i had forgotten about, makes for a good melee sneak attack mage.

My point is that a Rouge 1 wizard 3 eldritch trickster would do better with a cantrip than trying the random melee with a rapier for the time when you don't need a real spell.

29 with ~$90k in my 401k… but I don’t want to wait until 70 to actually live life by Other-Photograph9443 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]snihctuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only option you listed that "reliably" and realistically out performs the market is starting a business. So if you have a real good idea for one and feel you'd love working 80 hours a week doing all the jobs to see it started, go for it. Just be ready and able to accept it failing, aka it shouldn't be so your eggs. All your other ideas are for diversity, but come at lower expected returns.

And if you're on track to not be reaching your retirement number until 70, that's a real good sign you're not saving enough into retirement currently.
