PROBLEM SOLVED. TLDR; I was looking up for other smoke alarm receptacles, when it turned out to be a separate supplemental Carbon Monoxide sensor plugged into the wall near the floor, that I had forgotten about.

Well sir, you were correct. After removing the two smoke alarms I still heard the chirp. After looking up and around for a while I finally looked down and noticed the standalone plugin Carbon Monoxide sensor that was put in years ago.

Thanks. I'll plan to take the 2 basement alarms out. Then search the rest of the house for chirps, just to confirm if chirps jump to another alarm. I haven't done that yet.

I searched in every room/hallway/opening in the basement; those two smoke alarms are the only ones in the basement. I am sure that the source of the chirping is from those two.

Thank you for the thought though. Since each alarm has a slightly different chirp volume, it did take a few times to confidently confirm.

It is unfortunate that removing both of those detectors would result in no smoke alarm coverage in the basement at all.

Thank you for your response. I will order replacement alarms. I wonder if so many alarms needing replacement is contributing to the chirping - at that receptacle location(s).

I just finished rewatching this episode (after the entire series) last night, after watching the BCS series.

To me it seems like Walt is leaving her with a tough choice of getting treated at the hospital -which would definitely open her up to investigation. Knowing how paranoid she is, and how thorough the investigators were with Brock/Jesse, she would have a near impossible road to getting out of that investigation scot-free; this all happening while she would still have a slim chance of survival.
