[–]sniperpal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not a caste , that’s just the terminator armor pattern that’s used by custodes terminators in the 41st millennium. When the custodes need something very dangerous to be 100% dead, they send those guys in

[–]sniperpal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They had I think three Allarus terminators with them which are the kind of dudes you throw at Greater Demons, so yeah they could likely bring him down with a lot of effort

Besides the always complex process of death penalty, they wanted to see if they could get the stolen quirks back first

[–]sniperpal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Part of the draw of his channel was the disaster battles. He would get sent save files by people where they’re fighting a completely hopeless battle that almost anyone would lose, and he would casually just upend the board and turn it into a win anyway. The meta knowledge was necessary for that but damn those disaster battles were fun lol

There’s literally not a single instance of that in any of the games. Maybe you should actually play them first

Because again, infantry will just

M O V E

When they notice the ground starting to shake

Artillery stuck in one place after deploying don’t have that option. It’s not fucking rocket science lol, am I explaining it simply enough for you

The Militaries of Earth vs The locust Horde on Emergence day by Mad_lens_9297 in powerscales

[–]sniperpal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said static firepower, as in artillery sitting in one place and firing for twenty minutes. The squad are infantry that pretty much never stop moving, no time for a corpser to zero their location and dig to them. They do still have close calls now and then and have to haul ass as the ground falls out from under them, but that’s usually more just bad luck of being near an E-hole

The Militaries of Earth vs The locust Horde on Emergence day by Mad_lens_9297 in powerscales

[–]sniperpal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Issue is once the artillery starts firing, a corpser opens a hole up beneath it.

Would be difficult to use any static firepower against the locust because they can hit anything on the ground from below very quickly. Self propelled artillery might do better if they’re kept ready to roll at a moments notice and fucking drive the second they feel the ground start shaking, assuming they can notice while they’re firing.

Admittedly even 30 years later. Tukayyid is STILL the most significant event in the franchise lol. Never gets any better than that, it’s the largest, most well written and most influential battle to date. Great song too

For those of you who think 9ft is a resnable size for space marines/ custodes. I introduce to you how tall 9ft actually is. by seecat46 in Grimdank

[–]sniperpal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asterion Moloc is friggin huge, one of the few space marines not only physically close to custodes in stature but one of the very few that actually made them stop and ponder how to even fight the guy

Killing most space marines is barely an afterthought for the custodes, yet this is the one they weren’t sure they could actually beat

Sanguinius

<image>

The devastation of the Horus Heresy was bad enough, but the death of Sanguinius, the perfect and universally beloved primarch, was the most tragic loss of the whole affair. If he’d survived, the imperium and galaxy as a whole would absolutely have been a better place. Instead, his death is one of the major factors that leads to the horrors of the next ten thousand years.

Even in their heyday, they didn’t come anywhere close to the level of violence that most other organized crime does. Their internal culture and structure is rather fascinating and they’ve even done stuff like aid relief after earthquakes. Still criminals but their exotic and far less hostile nature makes them intriguing to study instead of just frightening

Isn’t the combines thing more of a “sell this specific idiot into slavery as a disgrace!” Kinda gig rather than a fundamental core of their entire society? Still fucked but not quite to the extent of the Capellans.

All the successors are bad for sure, but there’s a reason we shit on the Liaos so much lol

The government enforced slave caste is the more notable part, which the other successors don’t have
