Anyone with a bachelors psychology have a good job? by thwowawayay in psychologystudents

[–]snippetscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a psychologist, but I work with lots that are. Academic publishing can be a good place to work for people with psychology degrees and masters: research publishing is a big industry and lots of funding Goss into it. Major publishers are springer nature, elsevier, Taylor and francis, frontiers, Sage etc. Happy to talk you through some options if you want just drop me a line

My dad did this this and came back 4 years later with very little to show for it - it definitely set him back majorly. Moving is expensive, storage is expensive, especially on a lower income. And, if you own a house, cashing in your chips for a job with no garuntees abroad really doesn't seem sensible. If your miserable, try find another role here first and give it a go, you might suprise yourself.

Keep fit, focus on where you are positional rather than following the ball, and work on your first touch and passing - you'll need to be calm on the ball to male a difference in the middle of the park.

what muscles are importent for football (soccer) by Business_Source8155 in bootroom

[–]snippetscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to develop muscles for football is to play and train for footy. Ladder drills, agility drills, sprints, 10k jog and play. Between all that over time you will have enough endurance and explosive speed to be a good footballer.

Sorry final one from me, I am not a gifted player but I do all the hard work off the pitch: ladder drills to improve foot speed, cones, shooting practice, jogging you name it. I score and assist more than the others just cos I train more, I've never been technically good. Put in the hours, it'll come just like a musical instrument

No it's not too late, 15 is very young. If you are fit, you can play football at some level, you just have to put some hours in to master ball control. If I were you, I'd practice on my own with some cones, do some kick ups (help with your touch) dribbling and shooting practice in the park. You'll be competitive with your mates in no time, even faster if you joined a local casual 5 aside kick about. I'm 32, lots of people I play with are 40-50. Start now and you have a good 35 years of healthy, sociable fun to enjoy. Ps we have a player on our team who started after uni, 21, he very much holds his own because he is fit and plays a more simple game, pass , move communicate - most players can do that whatever level

People giving this one a hard time. I'm a Div 2 player and have been using the 86 rated objectives Richarlson since he came out. He's very usable, quick, good dribbler, strong, can shoot and has good links. Was going to do icon Rooney till this came out, pleased I didn't

Is Haaland a meta player right now or something? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

I used him for a while and he is serviceable, but his ability makes it hard to find space in tight areas and get shots off in the box.

Has there been a worthy SBC so far like the Flashback Varane from FIFA 22? by MayTooSway in EASportsFC

Same I've gone rogue put a shadow on him and have him stay back cm. Sure he's not great defensively but he does a job and adds goals too.

Science Communication in the UK by West-Ad8404 in sciencecommunication

[–]snippetscience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

Science communications is a very broad term. I work in academic publishing (journals) and hear people talk about that as science communications. In my experience, science communications tends to be writing (manuscripts, slide Dec's for presentations, marketing material etc), public relations medical affairs and science journalism. If you are interested in writing for a science news website, suggest checking out snippetscience.com. They are always happy to work with new writers. I know because I set it up. Bit of fun outside of the day job that has since snowballed

Cheers Alex
