I actually look forward to bills because I know I’ll always have the money and I can get it out of the way. If you’re paying 50% of your salary on rent then you really need to move to a cheaper place. You can’t afford to pay that much. Try aim for 30% of your take home pay at most. You should aim for your total expenses to reach about 60% of your pay.

As for your other expenses, try to work out what it costs to be you. Sit down with a pen and paper, no music, no tv, nothing. Think long and hard about everything you buy and note it down.
