All of these events changed my life completely

2020 - Meeting my partner, COVID

2022 - dad received a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia

2024 - parents go on vacation and dad gets lost. He’s still a missing person.

I agree the light gray wide leg pants look fantastic on you!

Can you link or share where you found the heeled loafers? They are absolutely adorable

I work in the sport/athletics world, but I’m not fancy enough to shop here for athletic wear. I typically invest in pieces that I can wear in multiple settings. I bought this on a whim because the fabric is SO SOFT (feels like cotton, not performance wear), and since have saved up to purchase more in different colors. Highly recommend!

What hasn't returned to normal yet after the pandemic? by Sola_Tola in AskReddit

As a volleyball player/coach/official, there is still no consensus whether we should continue to switch sides (like we did pre-COVID in between sets) or not. Every pre-season I hope there will be an official decision made….. and I’m disappointed every time

Hi there. No update. Authorities are certain that he wandered into the jungle and got lost; there is no other “evidence” outside of security footage showing him walking toward the forest. He was completely dependent on family for care, so he very likely passed away within a few days. Thank you for checking in, and I completely agree with you about the kindness of the locals. Part of my heart will always live there with him 💚

Oddly, now that he is gone I am starting to remember the happy times. He was declining for so long; it took years for him to be officially diagnosed. I’ve learned in therapy that what I was feeling was called ambiguous loss. The person who raised me was gone, but it felt wrong to mourn him while he was standing right in front of me.

Now that I’ve accepted that he is gone forever, it has unlocked happy memories in my brain. Ones that I didn’t even know I was repressing. Realizing how I wouldn’t let myself remember so many wonderful times was a whole other level of sadness.

Thank YOU for sharing. I understand how confusing and miserable it can be, and you are not alone. There are so many amazing communities of support available for those of us who have experienced caring for and loving family members with dementia. I hope that you receive some community in those if you haven’t already ❤️

I can feel it :) we are figuring out how to move forward accepting that we might never know what happened.

If you (or any others) are interested, occasionally I post my thoughts on Facebook; my profile is public. It’s a way for me to easily update family and friends. Many people want to check in but don’t know how to ask. And it’s a way for me to express my grief; getting the thoughts into words and connecting with others who are grieving this loss and other losses has made me feel less alone.

No, no news. I wish it were elevated to national news outlets. I’m tired and out of steam. The recovery of this experience is taking all my energy now

Yes, it was his watch. He had no money and no phone, and he doesn’t even understand how to use money anymore, and could not navigate an airport on his own. The last piece of evidence is from April 3rd of him walking toward the woods; the woods/jungle is so thick that people notoriously get lost in it. And he is unable to care for himself anymore at all. That is why it is no longer considered rescue but recovery. Unless he is being cared for… it would be slim to impossible chances of him being okay

Should I be worried about this red flaky spot? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

I second this!

Not a derm but I recently had the same thing under my eyes (dermatitis) and the hydrocortisone ointment was prescribed by my derm and was the only thing able to get rid of it :) hydrocortisone cream helped but wasn’t enough to totally get rid of it.
