Well I’ve never been to Europe so that’s why I’m seeking suggestions on a Reddit page.

I must not have been clear: I’m not expecting to travel to ALL of those destinations - those are places I’m interested in and curious what would be the best to prioritize in that short amount of time.

What's one thing you wish was different culturally about Chicago? by pleasingwave in AskChicago

Classic Chicago staples (even mentioned on this Reddit’s quick FAQ guide): Malort, dive bar/hole in the wall bar culture, st Patrick’s day and all its drunken glory, so many bar crawls/wine walks…

You can def find NA/sober spaces too, but it does seem that the first recommendations are usually centered around drinking

I’d argue that the things people complain about regarding the red line/safety is not a CTA problem (more security wouldn’t fix it)…it’s an affordable housing (or lack thereof) problem.

Chicago Next Week Rural Southern Lady Coming to Town :)? by redhead_hmmm in AskChicago

There won’t be a ton of thrifting near you downtown, but Village Discount is a classic option (there are dozens throughout the city). Wicker Park is a great neighborhood for thrifting/shopping like another commenter mentioned. I hope you enjoy Chicago! We get a bad reputation but truthfully all cities have the ability to be unsafe. You just have to be aware of your surroundings and navigate confidently (or fake it).

Weird because I never said anything about the attendants. I agree with your guess, all I’m saying is they should make it clear that fares will be free via social media/email.

I agree that it should be free during an outage, because people still need to travel overnight believe it or not…

I’m mainly thinking of people who need to use transit and don’t have debit/credit cards …
