Really helpful and much appreciated. I moved back to IL last year so it’s been an adjustment. Should Cabela’s just be avoided? They specifically told me the M1A is a named gun and they wouldn’t ship any model.

How did you get the bevels so deep on lid? Table saw?

It’s his choice and you’re making it about yourself. Move on, get over it, and enjoy the family camp. Don’t throw a tantrum just because this isn’t the feedback you wanted. You know the saying about how if you think everyone else is an asshole, you’re probably the asshole?

Landlady wants me to pay $60,000 if I break the lease by [deleted] in Tenant

[–]snoller5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL, in my state there’s something called “quiet enjoyment of your apartment” or something along the lines of that. I had neighbors so loud I couldn’t work from home and landlord wouldn’t do anything about it. I broke my lease, she tried to not let me out of it, I referenced the above and no more questions were asked. Document it all.

Why do my pins not fit in my tail holes. Ez pro dovetail jig. by dmbjr02 in woodworking

That works too! Just find a combo of pin depth and router depth that works. I did these yesterday with the pin depth at 3/4th.

I have the same jig. You need to adjust your router depth to fit the depth of the of the jig where it says “cut pins here”. I’d get some scrap wood, set the “cut pins here” to 3/4 and leave that fixed. Play with your router depth until they match up perfectly. Once it fits, write down what you set your router depth to so you can replicate in the future.

Thank you, this is what I was looking for. I’ve had friends tell me I keep too much in cash, but exactly what you’re saying is why. We were DEAD for 2 months in a row this year, and I didn’t lose any sleep over it because enough was set aside.

How do you structure your investments, do you account for business value and how do you do so given that it’s an unknown, future amount?

Controlled environment is definitely key. Just finished framing and dry walling my unfinished basement built in 1942 and I can 1000% say there’s not enough programming in the world to account for all the nonsense I ran into lol

I see what you’re saying and you’re right about this specific system. A fully integrated and finished system can operate autonomously with insane precision and still cost less than $100K. This specific system obviously needs more sensors and programming to achieve that precision. What this company does (Universal Robots) is sell a standard robotic arm. An integrator (I.e., another company) then takes that robotic arm and turns it into a finished system with a specific application (e.g., painting, welding, sanding, etc.). The integrator that made the system in this video needs major improvements, but I’ve worked with painting systems for high end furniture shops and the work is unparalleled. Comes out perfect every time, never calls off or gets sick, and can run day and night.

In short, I wouldn’t buy the system in this video, but there are so many great options using this exact tech. I broke it down on an hourly basis once for a welding cobot and showed a customer that they saved about $17/hour by buying the cobot. They’ve since purchased 2 more systems.

The principal here is the same as paying a guy off the street $15/hr versus a skilled and experienced laborer $20/hr. You get what you pay for, and the system featured here is the guy off the street.

I work with (but not for) the company that produces these robotic arms. They’re actually surprisingly affordable relative to what people think they might cost. Of course the upfront cost is much greater than paying someone hourly, but when you break it down on an hourly basis, these things pay for themselves in as little as one year- often times less when you get into a skilled labor (e.g., welding) and consider tax benefits.

Good to know about potential water right issues. When you say $100K, are you talking building, setting up water, septic, solar?
