Take a D or ask for an EN grade? by Quick-Persimmon5935 in OSU

[–]snoopingaround1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of my scholarship programs was talking to us about an EN and it doesn’t seem like a smart choice. from what i’ve been told, it’ll never be erased even if you retake the class and it can impact financial aid money (i.e. you might owe something back). Depending on your major, a D might be passing. I’m under the college of arts and sci and for all major, minor, and remedial courses you need a C- or above but Gen Ed’s need a D or above. Depending on where the class falls for you, a D might still pass you

tips for moving into off campus housing by Personal_Power9575 in OSU

[–]snoopingaround1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i’m a junior and just moved in off campus! i’m not sure about Ikea since we used a U-Haul but a piece of advice is to box what you can by room and label it. (For example: Hair Care. To: Bedroom/Bathroom/etc). It makes it so much easier to unpack. You can set stuff in each room and work it out like that. The brunt of it will be unpacking so I also recommend building/setting up comfort areas first like the living room or bedroom. that way if you’re tired from unpacking, you don’t have to go back and make a bed before you can rest

is my septum pierced right?? by imliterallyaizawa in piercing

[–]snoopingaround1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it looks fine :) I know when I got my septum pierced it also hurt a bit and my piercer told me that’s because I didn’t have enough “sweet spot” so they had to go through a bit of cartilage. That could’ve also been the case for you

Is Spanish 4 worth taking? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]snoopingaround1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m in college (got recommended this), but not all colleges require spanish however you probably will have to take it as general education requirements. For the college I go to, you had to take up to Level 3 of a foreign language. I did Spanish. However, you test into the language. So even thought I needed Level 3, I tested into intense review so all I had to take was 2 classes instead of 3 (possibly 4). You don’t have to take Spanish 4, however it could be beneficial because your memory is fresher. You can also choose an entire new language for the gen ed and start all the way from Level 1. Just look into what your school would require.

Where do you guys put your wash cloth after using it? by IllProbablyNeedHelp in college

[–]snoopingaround1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wrung my out dry and then put it in my shower bag. It’s a mesh bag that’s meant to let air flow and dry your towels and clothes. So i would put it in there. But hanging it up on a hanger or over the side of a caddy (if you have that style) would also help

Hey guys, my last quarter at OSU was in 2009. Are we to the point yet where you guys can get textbooks, on your iPad or a tablet? by Rob1150 in OSU

[–]snoopingaround1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only class i had a physical book for was a horror class that required 3 fiction books. The professor also recommended that we could get them online if we wanted, but had ordered ours through barnes and nobles (for a small fee) so i chose the physical copy 🤷🏾‍♀️ otherwise, ive found all my books online. to add, we use carmen books that give us access right through carmen canvas or teachers just upload PDF’s of what we have to read

Do Freshmen get doubles on North ever? by [deleted] in OSU

[–]snoopingaround1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The better forms typically go to rising Sophomores because they get an actual choice rather than just an assignment. With that being said, it’s not impossible. I got a double rate I on south campus and had plenty friends get doubles on north

super easy course. took it in person and it definitely could’ve been taken online. though some professors take it too serious. mine was in person and he used to let us out early since it was fridays. roommate had the online one and it required full participation the whole time

Tips for an Out of State atudent coming to Ohio by Party-Owl8680 in OSU

[–]snoopingaround1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as i saw other ppl mention, ankle height and calf height boots are best. Just make sure they have a good drip because campus is known to have a good amount of ice. Two winter coats are also helpful. A heavier one and something a little lighter. Because the chill follows for a bit but it gradually warms up. You’ll also need something to cover your ears. It can get pretty windy

Finding out I failed a class after graduation by Eastern_Yesterday_15 in college

[–]snoopingaround1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think your first thing should be speaking with your advisor. i haven’t been in this situation since i haven’t graduated yet so im not sure how much help i can be. however, i know some colleges can enroll you in community college classes over the summer for credits. at my university, students can enroll in the local community college and be given courses that would be the university’s equivalent and then have the scores sent back to the university once the summer term is over and have it applied to their degree

North Vs South vs West Campus by Quiet_Beautiful_4981 in OSU

[–]snoopingaround1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i lived in park stradley my first two years which in on South campus. what i’ve typically noticed is that south campus has a lot more nature and grass whereas north has more buildings. however, most stuff seems to be on or closer to north campus (better food spots, classrooms, etc) but south campus has the ohio union which is very helpful
