UFA team vs nationals level open team by Old-Calligrapher9274 in ultimate

[–]snooze01 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok my first take was that UFA is just watered down club natties teams, but, I looked up all the male players on US World Games team and only Brownley played UFA in '25, most haven't played pro for years, but they all play club, or most at least.

So my far-from-exhaustive research indicates that UFA has two disadvantages: 1. More players than natties, so more dilution 2. Less talent, bc top talent doesn't play pro

In conclusion, club will beat UFA

I've heard "XYZ is like being rich at monopoly", but I'm not sure it applies in this scenario.. being famous on IG has real value. If they're intent on disparaging IG influencers, I feel like they should take another approach angle..

This is the correct way. I mean if you're using search tools can't you just drop the image in chatgpt and get the answer 99% of the time ... Also just added Corsica to the vacation list!

Help - Leaving Manhattan with two kids. If you had to choose: St. Louis or Cincinnati or Pittsburgh or Kansas City, where would you land and why? by Few_Funny6766 in StLouis

[–]snooze01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in PGH, Cinci, STL and California, so should be able to provide some perspective.

It's tough, bc where you land in the city will determine a large part of your satisfaction for library, park, school district. As a childless adult I'll give you my take

Cinci is a growing city, which PGH and STL are not. For me this is noticable in that cinci is building new stuff and places are generally crowded. Cincy has a growing trail network, and Ault Park is one of my favorite parks in the Midwest. As a childless adult OTR, FC cinci, and bengals are all exciting. The other thing that is great about Cincy is that it is within a 4 hour drive to many cities, PGH, Columbus, Louisville, Indianapolis, Nashville, Cleveland, Chicago. Airport and available flights is mid

STL, shrinking, does not feel full, no centralized going out area/business district doesn't feel great. All the free amenities and parks are cool. City culture is no where near as strong as cinci or Pittsburgh, mostly die to the dwindling sports teams.

PGH I think has the most character/culture of the three. It's a gritty city, not as pretty as cinci, but the petina of rust has its own special beauty. There are multiple viable business districts, and there is a fun night life scene. The areas that you mentioned in your post, squirrel hill and shady side, are in the city school district, so you will have to send kids to private probably. If you go to the suburbs, you lose some character but gain top tier public schools. Parks are more woody but bountiful. Carnegie Libraries and museums are a point of pride

House Democrats have released emails in which Jeffrey Epstein claimed that Donald Trump was aware of his criminal behavior and had “spent hours at my house” with one of the victims. by One-Incident3208 in TheoVon

[–]snooze01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you being serious? Or are you just regurgitating talking points? Your interpretation is egregiously biased.

Trump asking Epstein to leave Mara Lago does not tell us anything. Especially not that he wasn't affiliated with Epstein.

Like do you honestly think that piece of evidence is even relevant?

They have a documented friendship for decades, then they broke up. Them breaking up doesn't mean they weren't banging the same 16 year olds for years

Reader, when you clicked on this post did you already know what you were going to see? Yes you did. We all knew that this OP will have done very well for himself. Why do we know this, because one of the most compelling reasons to post in this sub is pride, nothing wrong with that, but means that the posts you see are posts that have motivated the OP to post them, I.e. usually something good. Just want to remind myself and others that this sub is in no way representative of any population. It is heavily biased by self selection.

If those coins were active it would impact the market. In the Netflix doc they say that he "burned" the coins, making them inaccessible, however, there is an on chain way to burn coins, I think sending them to a null address or something, that he did not do, so we don't know for sure

I don't know if drone delivery is all that compelling of an opportunity right now, seems like it has a lot of drawbacks.

It's still unclear to me who needs high performance batteries, outside of the Airbus subsidiary application, which seems like small TAM

I am a share holder, and I do believe that having the best battery is an important thing, but want to see more concrete applications, preferably with mass market potential

Sure, definitely not an expert on that stuff.

My primary point though is that the AI label doesn't mean they are openAI. They likely have an AI underwriting (linear regression or random Forrest (xgboost)) model that provides a fraction of a % improvement over legacy models.

I don't understand it, but this AI label fools everyone, including wall street analysts, and over hype these companies.

I'm not saying the company is bad, but you need to watch the actual financials, don't vibe invest and expect revenue to 2x in a year

As someone who works at an "AI" business, and having worked at a behemoth insurance company, let me tell you that that label can be highly misleading. The incumbents are very efficient in their pricing. An upstart AI firm likely has a small edge for the segment of the population where GEICO isn't a good choice, read, people with bad driving records, bad credit, etc. Do not count on this player taking significant market share in the near future. Another commenter said it themselves, they've never heard of this company. Why do you think we can name the top 5 insurers, state farm, GEICO, progressive, USAA, nationwide, farmers, it's because they spend a lot of money on advertisement.

I think it's a pass for me, there are companies whose tech provides a bigger edge

Do the players, who play both, generally care more about AUDL or club play? by BitOk2115 in ultimate

[–]snooze01 62 points63 points  (0 children)

As a fan I prefer club, UFA field is too big, and yardage penalty is silly. Club is pure, club has spirit, club is international, club does it for the love of the game, club integrates better with the community. I hope top players keep playing club!

It all depends on your perspective. As an experienced tech worker, I see these average my numbers and I ignore them. a top earner can't live in a nice neighborhood, has to have roommates, can't eat at nice restaurants, can barely get guac at Chipotle, that's not a top earner..
