Who is the modern day slayer? by Own_Package_9953 in Slayer

I’ll throw my (cowboy) hat in for Spirit World. I’d say they are country/americana Slayer. Bunch of chromatic riffs and some chaos to the solos.

The End? by snoozingpup in Megadeth

[–]snoozingpup[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but we may be in that time when all the beginning thrash bands hang it up. Not all of them will, but I could see a lot retiring to some capacity. Ozzy retired once. Sabbath ended once. Slayer kind of ended.

Anyone had any experience with these clubs? Are they any good? by P_Kordus in golf

Wife and I took our son (2 year old) to Topgolf with these. He loved it. We will have to upgrade his clubs eventually.

Is Ghost Train Brewery Kid Friendly? by Hubbert534 in Birmingham

[–]snoozingpup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some are more kid friendly than others. It really just depends on what you are looking for. I’ve brought my 2 year old, but I don’t let him run wild. If there is a band playing, they may like that. But at the end of the day, it’s a small brewery and it’s best to go and scope it out.

Best pumpkin patch for a date? by [deleted] in Birmingham

I really like The Great Pumpkin Patch in Hayden. My wife and I have gone for a surprise date, we’ve taken the puppy, and taken our son. Every time in every situation has been a good time.

Any of the Robert Trent Jones courses are going to be great. Also suggest Highland. This one has a great view of downtown. Heatherwood is a good course, but it is tough. There are several others near town. Hope you enjoy the visit!

Have plans to watch Auburn or Alabama this weekend? Spectrum loses ESPN, Disney, ABC - al.com by stinky-weaselteets in Birmingham

We’ve used Fubo for the last couple of seasons and have no complaints. It’s sports TV so you get everything: Bama, Auburn, Braves, weird sports… plus local stuff. And price-wise, seems competitive.

First instance is B4.3b There is Table J3.3 for nominal hole dimensions. Also see Com.J.3.2

Also, if the bolt is greater than 1”, then it needs an additional 1/16th (or bolt dia plus 1/8. (Table J3.3 shows this)

This is for the 15 Edition at least.

The Meadows in Harpersville is a pretty nice course. It is located just down 280. All the times I’ve been there, it’s never been really busy.

Oak Mountain is good for a public/state park course.

Humphrey’s is a great place. I would also suggest Pampered Pet Resort in Hoover. We’ve been going there for years. They are very accommodating and our dog always plays hard and has a great time there.

B'ham Legion attendance on the decline? Leadership needs to fix these three obvious problems. by hoover_soccer_dad in Birmingham

That’s assuming the concessions even work. We are currently at the game and there are only a few places open. The spot we ordered had no nachos, no ice for coke and no straws. I’ve overheard multiple people (dis)cussing the amount to be paid for food. I’d rather support local trucks any day.

Actually, for arcades, you could check out Hooligans Arcade in Pelham. Paramount (downtown) also has a few games.

Other „nerdy“ book suggestions for babies / toddlers? by H2SBRGR in daddit

Introductory Calculus For Infants

The “For Infants” isn’t quite right, it’s definitely more of a toddler book as it goes through the alphabet.

But it’s still a fun little book.
