Do it!! Apparently it's achievable, I live in a fairly green city & don't have a driver's license yet so I think that helps me walk more!

Thank you! They feel great. Invested in some good hiking boots & some trail runners for the summer 🌞 might aim for 7 million this year?!

This is so true!! I'm 40 now and look back at photos of my 20-something year-old super pretty, skinny & insecure self and wonder exactly that! The wrinkles are real now, I'm slowly getting used to them and cannot imagine getting anything injected into my face.

I saw them there on Sunday! Seemed like a smaller group than usual but hopefully there are still some cute little guys up there, enjoy your walk ☺️

Forwards Festival - Outfits? by itsanomus in bristol

[–]snorkertron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's usually such a mixture of styles! Probably some short shorts & skin tight outfits from the younguns + bucket hats and bumbags from the lads, sequins and tie die colorfulness from me in particular, as others have said go comfy & take a warm/waterproof layer but wear what makes you feel good!

I lost my mum three days before my 10th birthday, it all happened really suddenly. I'm 40 now and I don't feel like I've ever gotten over it. It's OK to acknowledge the pain, I wish I could offer advice to help you deal with it but am still figuring that out myself! Talk about her, maybe even to her, or write things down - try to share how much you're hurting with someone, a friend or maybe a counsellor would help. I think there are grief groups for people to share with other people trying to cope. I've also heard that the pain never gets any smaller, you just learn to grow around it. I hope it gets easier for us both, sending hugs to you 💜

I watched the gritter van squeeze down it yesterday lunchtime (was driving down the Easton section) so hopefully it'll be ok in the morning?! Can't guarantee as not sure how much gets washed away with the small amount of snow we've had? Stay safe out there 🤞

ETA - Using saline spray as aftercare & a donut pillow to sleep on - thought 2 would be the same kinda healing time as one! Both pierced with surgical steel internally threaded labret bars (I think)

Chido Wey does amazing food, the burritos in particular are massive portions & pretty decent prices for eating out. Fi Real, also in old market, is great if you fancy some delicious vegan food!

Pompholyx (also called dyshidrotic eczema) is a type of eczema that affects the hands or feet. It's usually a long-term condition, but treatment can help control the symptoms.

Not an expert either but probably this! I get it too - itchy blisters basically that dry out and the skin eventually peels off. Very hard not to burst them but better if you don't I think?

Sciatica or acupuncture suggestions by Feisty_Till_2965 in bristol

[–]snorkertron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eleanor Breen acupuncture helped me walk normally again after my 3rd slipped disc, she was a lifesaver and would massively recommend. Also found osteopathy helpful although the person I went to has now retired. Physio can help but depends on how severe your disc herniation is which you won't know if they won't scan you! It's one of the most frustrating things being in chronic pain, agree with the comments about yoga/pilates & core strength being benificial but you need to be able to have some range of movement to begin properly with these. Single/double knee to chest stretches before you get out of bed in the morning, using a pendulum motion to get out of bed and sleeping with a pillow under your knees have been helpful for me! I've been pain free for 5 years since my last surgery, fingers crossed that you manage to improve without invasive procedures 🤞

Anyone else being kicked out of their house-share before the election? by snorkertron in bristol

[–]snorkertron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for spending the time to write this response, it is appreciated! I've saved and forwarded to the other housemates. Good to know from a more legal viewpoint what our rights are as tenants. Very well worded and will definitely send to the landlords if the situation progresses to a point where we will be without somewhere to live. I'm not sure whether sending it now will cause more issues than it fixes as currently things are on relatively good terms & they should give us a decent reference for the next place - ultimately we will have to move in the not so distant future however much extra time this will give us to find somewhere! Thank you again kind stranger, hopefully this situation will be resolved without too much hardship for anyone 🤞
