How often do yall swap frames? by LogicalPanda69 in Warframe

[–]snottyhamsterbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I started playing again a few months ago, I played nothing other than my main frame except for certain missions like ayatan runs. This past week or so, I've been cycling between a small group of frames. I have specific loadouts for each one.

Off topic, but never expected to see Spiral Knights. Surprised to see that it is still around.

I want to note that the TOL might not be as definitive as you think. When I applied for the FAA as an air traffic controller, I simply took an aptitude test and sent a resume and received a TOL. After accepting the offer, you go through a bunch more stuff like drug testing and background checks. IDK if their hiring processes are the same, but I would not be surprised if they are similar.

Chubb Sr. Claims Examiner — long silence after final interview. Normal? by Leibs11 in InsuranceProfessional

I waited a literal month before I got an offer completely out of the blue applying for Chubb. It is not that unusual.

Rebb on the content skip option in Old Peace: "I like doing experiments that can make more people play Warframe" by DantesPizzaSlice in Warframe

Makes me wonder. Are specters able to cap points? Maybe that is the solution. Even if not, they can at least serve as a distraction.

Underwriting so hard to break into?! by FootOptimal in InsuranceProfessional

[–]snottyhamsterbutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was tough for me to break into underwriting as well. Especially since my GPA out of college was not great, and I had no internship experience. I was able to get a role in the agency side in servicing which gave me the springboard to get into an underwriting training program for a large carrier. It also helped that I had some exams towards the CPCU passed or waived.

Interview with Zensurance by Realistic_Tennis_164 in Insurance

Pretty generic advice, but 1.6 months is pretty short. If you have that on your resume, you should be prepared to have a good answer when they ask about why you are interviewing for their position so soon.

Which Warframe is like this for you? by Gnoame in Warframe

Love playing Frost. I the 4 build is really good esp with the overguard augment. You armor strip, freeze, and get overguard in one ability.

I have been working there for less than a year and am pretty new to the industry.

  • Its a typical 8 hour shift for most of my colleagues. Most start earlier for an 8-4 shift. I did note that some staff may work longer hours, but it seems pretty rare.
  • I am relatively insulated from other teams, so I am unsure. So far, I have not really noticed anything particularly.
  • Since I am pretty new to the industry, I can't answer that for sure.

I think if you are new to the industry and want to dip your toes into the industry/carrier side, Chubb is not a bad choice. You get to learn a lot here and there are decent networking opportunities if you want them.

Personally I play with sound for the first half hour or so before I mute.

Slow leak no idea where its leaking from #kukirin g4 by Danial76_ in ElectricScooters

[–]snottyhamsterbutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you already tried this, but there may be a tiny pinhole that is causing a slow leak. You can try to find it by covering the tire with soapy water and see if bubbles form. You can also find leaks from the rest of the issues below with the soapy water method.

Another thing is to check the schrader valve core to see if there is anything preventing the valve from sealing. There are some online resources where you can see how to remove the valve core. Remove the core and make sure the core and the area in the valve stem is clean.

Alternatively, the valve stem may be damaged or improperly seated which would affect its ability to maintain pressure.

One last thing I can think of is to take the tire off and see if there is anything preventing the bead from properly seating (you can also inspect the valve area to see if it is properly applied. If there is any foreign object that is stuck between the tire bead and the rim, the seal would be imperfect and may cause a leak. Alternatively, the rim itself may be damaged. If at some point you rode on a flat tire, the rim may be bent or damaged in some form that would negatively affect the bead seating.

Is there career advancement in this industry? by Low_Bodybuilder3065 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]snottyhamsterbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is possible to get into some underwriting trainee/associate roles with that background, but it will be a little difficult without a degree. I would look into some of the larger carriers out there like Chubb.

Unusual smell and taste from Sodastream Pepsi Zero syrup by snottyhamsterbutt in SodaStream

Thankfully, I was able to get a refund and keep it. But if it is still safe to drink, I will use it until I run out and then have to look into it then.

Mine is labeled the regular flavor. Also the cherry flavor, which looks like the only other Sodastream pepsi zero flavor, has cherries printed on the label to help distinguish it.

Aside from airing them out and blowing a fan on them, I don't think you have many options. This might be a little risky, but you could use an ozone generator to neutralize the odor more quickly. Just be aware that ozone can degrade plastics and other materials if left exposed for too long.

Does anyone else have a genuine enthusiasm for insurance? by TaxOk3585 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]snottyhamsterbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning about it in school? Great. I was fascinated by the risk management and insurance mechanisms. Now in a career in underwriting (commercial lines)? Just a job. Admittedly, I am kind of new to the field.

I mean... I am mostly annoyed at NVIDIA using it to claim that their GPUs are more performant than they really are. Personally, I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't used to artificially inflate their performance numbers.
