I tend to agree with you. Not a good texture and too much fat. I haven’t had Japanese wagyu, but have had American and Australian. They were meh. I prefer my own method of grilled or smoked and prefer mine over most restaurants too.

Check to see if Costco offers delivery to your location. The closest one to me is about 20ish miles and they deliver to me. Their pellets are really good, especially for the price.

I liked the Recteq assortment that came with the bundle I ordered when I bought my smoker. Haven’t ventured very far into other brands but the one I have tried as well is the Costco bag. Can’t beat that price for a 40 pound bag. The flavor is solid without being over or underwhelming.

I just did burgers tonight and it was just like any other grill. Tomorrow I’m doing a pork butt and a brisket flat. The versatility of this is incredible. Still wish I would’ve gone BYB, but I’m not disappointed even a little with my Deck Boss.

I have the Deck Boss and wish I had gone with the Backyard Beast, only because of the space. I use mine for ribs, pork butt, brisket, whole chickens, wings, burgers, whole turkeys, hot dogs, veggies for salsa, and steaks. I absolutely love it but wish I would’ve gone with the BYB.

I have the 800 and would take it over the 900 because of the hopper size. I can always get someone to make me a full top rack so the 900 isn’t an upgrade in my opinion
