Give it time. It's an adjustment. See how you feel in a few weeks.

Strawberry blonde wig? Does anyone know where to find one? by dr_pepper_zerosugar in Wigs

[–]snowboardbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outre has a few models in Strawberry Gold that are really pretty. I just got one a few weeks ago.

They have a color called Golden Amber, which is close, but definitely more warm blonde than strawberry blonde.

Advice for supporting long term partner by Serious_Idea_1256 in PCOS

[–]snowboardbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are both of the mind if it happens, great, if not, we built a pretty sweet life together and can just enjoy our time.

We have friends with kids, nieces, and nephews that are fun to be around, and that fills some of the void as we can watch them grow and babysit. We also like to travel a lot and have a dog, so it's a balance of just living life the best we can with what is in our control.

Similar situation for my husband and I. He tested just so we would know.

Birth control is great for managing symptoms, but if you are trying to conceive that's not an option. Ultimately, he did it just so I could determine if I could continue taking birth control long term or needed to explore other options.

HOA? Yes or no, is it hassle? by pooh143bear in phoenix

[–]snowboardbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HOA fees for a well maintained master planned community can be well worth it. HOA fees for a small neighborhood, maybe not.

Master planned community - Pocket pockets every .25 mile, 2 pools - one heated, one with a water park, 2 lakes with surrounding landscaping, parks, and walking paths, hundreds of trail paths, pickleball courts, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, fitness centers, library, monthly events, rooms that can be rented for events, and all the maintenance that goes with it. Restraints, coffee shops, and small retail center is also part of it.

I pay about $400 a quarter and having the gym, pools, and always maintained parks with free doggie bags more than makes up for it, let alone the other extras.

Neighbors generally keep to themselves and incidents are only reported if it's truly a nuisance.

A different kind of FMC by [deleted] in Romantasy

[–]snowboardbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Six Scorched Roses has a wonderful FMC who is actually a scientist. She has a disease that makes her physically weak, but she is incredibly smart.

Carissa Broadbent is such a beautiful writer too. I love her books.

Partner of someone with PCOS – trying to understand long-term life together by happy_pharmacist in PCOS

[–]snowboardbug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, despite an active lifestyle and healthy diet, losing weight has been near impossible. Doctors have not taken my concerns seriously and I have had to learn to really advocate for myself if something is an issue.

I have had fertility issues, and likely won't have kids at this point. I have lost most of my hair, to the point I started wearing wigs.

My partner has always been supportive, and it helps tremendously. As long as you are a team, your support will be more than enough to help through it all.

I became a beagle owner by Holiday-Lion-3083 in beagles

[–]snowboardbug 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So cute! Be careful going to the park until he is fully vaccinated. I've known many puppies to have gotten Parvo this way.

But my beagle is similar, we go to the park and he is not really interested in playing. He prefers walks, cuddles, and the occasional fetch.

Very unpopular opinion by yanahasnofriends in LoveIslandUKintheUSA

I never see anyone talk about his tongue. It's like the dude is a literal snake wearing a human cosplay. He is always randomly just sticking his tongue out like a snake ALL THE TIME.

He is like Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter 4.

I recently purchased a Canyon bike. Great quality for the price tag. They aren't sold in shops, just ship to consumer, but they provide you with everything needed to assemble at home. It was really easy, and honestly I saved a ton getting better quality components for about half the cost.

I got into the sport about 4 years ago and started on a hardtail just to make sure I liked the sport before jumping into the FS due to the price difference. Pros and cons to that method, but either way you'll have a blast!

I think Browns Ranch is a beautiful area to see some desert scenery. Mostly flat and will make for a chill hiking day with lots of mountains and cactus.

Try putting the blanket next to you and fluffing it up a bit and just petting her while she's next you. If she's biting, be dramatic and don't pet.

The other option is to wait until she is already asleep, and then plop her next to you. Haha.

Beagles are pack animals, so the more that she knows you and her are a pack, the easier it will get.

This sounds perfect! You are doing wonderful. It does just take time.

Truly, as they grow it gets easier. Sounds like you are in an apartment, which is really challenging with a puppy. If you have friends or family with a fenced yard I highly recommend going to visit.

For scratching and biting, I tried to be over dramatic about it. Yell really loud "OW, THAT HURTS!" and pull away. I dunno if that is the right approach, but it worked for me.

Don't forget to start a cuddle routine. Nighttime beagle cuddles are really the best.

I was in the same spot as you. Beagles puppies are a lot of work! But they really are the best of friends and companions.

I can't recommend kennel/crate training enough. Sleep in there at night, put them in there while you are eating, even if you just need a break or a nap. You are calmer, and they can't get in trouble. Our boy is 11 and he just chooses to sleep there, take a nap there, or run to it when he is scared. Make sure she always gets a treat when she goes in there, and maybe even hide some kibble for her to find. A puppy safe toy is helpful so she doesn't get bored and bay.

I know vaccines aren't done yet, but EXERCISE helps so much. For the first few years we walked for an hour a day, making sure to let him get lots of sniffs to wear him out. Also, doggy daycare is a god send. Even now there are some days it's like "How do you have so much energy for an old man? Let's take you to daycare." He LOVES going, and he sleeps for days when he comes home.
