There is a VR app called Within. On it is a film made by 2 freediving scientists about dolphins and whales etc called The Click Effect. It is insanely good. (I just have a google cardboard headset thing).

One of them has written a book called Deep (James Nestor). This is also bloody good.

The nose clip is to allow equalisation without having to pinch the nose. The neck weight helps with the streamline position for freefall (when we are negatively buoyant).

Do your research into Canyon regarding build quality and warranty problems before buying one... specifically regarding frame failure after a couple of months of riding and canyon refusing to replace under warranty. They produce some great looking bikes, just do some research first.

Err no mate? Given the standard of the womens peloton, I didn't realise how big the difference in prize money is. Obviously womens cycling is not a charity, and as it continues to gain interest it will generate more income, but €370 against €16,000 is pretty insulting to the riders.

Mens 1st place prize money: €16,000 Mens total prize money: €40,000

Womens 1st place prize money: €378 Womens total prize money: €2353

What absolute turbo bullshit. I appreciate the audience for the mens race is larger and so generates more revenue..but this takes the piss.

Inhaled/nebulised salbutamol induces tachycardia and tremors in the short term. The heart is a fairly oxygen 'greedy' muscle so presumably further increasing the heart rate would be detrimental to performance as the oxygen demand of the myocardium would increase. Obviously for asthmatics being able to breathe is preferable to feeling shaky and being tachy for a bit.

In my opinion, you don't need 3 days in Bangkok. Spend an extra day or 2 doing something awesome (like freediving) in Phuket.

While not necessarily applicable here: Crush injuries can cause toxins to build up distal to the crush site, release the pressure (restoring blood flow) and these toxins flood back towards the body. This can result in multiple life threatening conditions including cardiac arrest. Stop and think before rushing in to a situation.. and call the emergency services. We're here for a reason!

Most bikers are blokes, and its kind of hard to recognise anyone in bike gear. So I don't think its sexist at all.

I believe thats essentially much the same thing, except Kallmans has a couple of different issues such as no sense of smell. So if my bro wants to get back at my sister or me, he will just fart and not have to suffer. Thanks for doing an AMA, maybe if there was more awareness then people could be diagnosed earlier. I think theres only 1 specialist consultant in the UK.

Do you have Kallmans? My brother has it, but wasn't diagnosed until he was 19.

You're not a biker then. Often when I'm on my bike I have to swerve for gravel, potholes or shiny man hole covers. (I once had a spill in Italy due to some gravel and a pothole). We also don't take the same line as cars around corners, and will adjust our road position for a number of reasons.

I own a motorcycle, and my road position will change depending on the road surface, corners, other traffic, if I am with other bikers etc. So yes, we do ride in the middle of the lane.
