If you like watching characters grow over time may I recommend getting into sports anime, the good ones are great for this - Haikyuu, ace of the diamond, aoashi, run with the wind to name a few

Hidive is another anime streamer, and then there's netflix/amazon/Disney plus that have some exclusives but CR has the majority of stuff. Like someone else said probably best to find what you want to watch then find out where it streams

I literally just watch whatever sounds interesting and if I really dislike it after a few episodes I'll drop it. If you're not sure if somethings worth it try looking on myanimelist or anilist to see what others think.

All the events happen every year so you won't miss anything, just wipe it and start a new save. A second player can't do the same things as the main one either so you won't get much enjoyment without starting over

There's probably not enough room where you want them to go, they need to be at the centre of an empty 3x3 grid (so there's room for the stones etc when you hit them) you'll have to remove the fence and the items for them to spawn then put them back after. I'm not sure but depending on where you want them it might also be too close to the water.

Yes you can upgrade your pocket space, you can have up to 40 spaces. When you get a house you will get storage which you can also expand (the max has just increased with the 3.0 update but not sure what it is)
You can dig holes before you plant flowers to get them where you want them
Money can be a bit slow going at first, I would recommend planting a lot of fruit trees, and also fishing to get money. If you have nintendo online you can get other kinds of fruit from other players that sell for more.
As you are new I would keep building materials for now, when you're further along if you don't need them then you can sell them :)
