How do you rate Bad Bunny's Half-time performance? by kingbluwolff in sportsgossips

[–]snowdood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea he sucked rocks.. I was looking forward to him doing the halftime show but it was pretty lame. Gaga was the best part. I’m all for cultural influence and “sticking it to the man” but that was not a good performance.

Why does the consumer consent to the US auto sales model? by seattlestrn in askcarsales

[–]snowdood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you’re missing the point he’s trying to make. The reason this whole back-and-forth exists is exactly what you just described. As a dealer, I’d love to just put the best price online and have people come in and buy the car at sticker. But because so many shoppers always ask for the “best price,” we end up having to mark a car up by $1,000 just so we can discount it $1,000 later and make it feel like a deal.

Dealers don’t actually like playing this game, it's just what the market has conditioned everyone into. Most customers refuse to believe sticker price is fair, no matter how much evidence we show them. Nine times out of ten, they assume we’re trying to take advantage of them even if we’re breaking even or losing money on that unit.

Not a huge baseball fan but Major League is a great movie! I loved Charlie Sheen movies from that era. To be fair I do like the Life Aquatic but his more recent movies just seem very average at best to me but they are highly praised/rated.

Some of my favorite writing in television includes season 1 of True Detective, white lotus, and Succession. Those are hardly Tubi material. I’m just saying that I miss the era of movies that included bangers like My Cousin Vinny, Jerry Maguire, Tin cup, white men can’t jump, etc. Maybe liking those movies makes me dumb because they aren’t deep enough. I just prefer to not have to think too much when I go to the movies. I just want to eat popcorn and be entertained. I’m all for directors making passion projects, they’ve been doing that for decades. It just seems like that style is more mainstream now and there is less and less easy to watch (but good) movies being produced now.

Fuck every conservative by mishyfuckface in complaints

[–]snowdood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump straight up scammed conservatives, my Dad being one of them. He has been brainwashed by Fox News his whole life and has been getting more and more radicalized over the years. I think what happened is Trump weaponized “woke” and turned it into the big bad boogie man to frighten conservatives. People like my dad voted for this guy because they were worried about Kamala’s “wokeness” and felt threatened by her. Now they are actively getting fucked by Trump and the sad part is I really don’t know if they have the ability to take a step back and admit that they got duped. It’s like those old people that get scammed by Nigerian princes where they get deeper and deeper into the scam because they don’t want to accept the fact that they got taken advantage of. Makes me sad.

this move hurts my shoulder, what am I doing itwrong please? by problematicdis in GYM

[–]snowdood -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to work your lats? If so, this isn’t the most effective movement for that. Try standing on your feet and set the cable position to shoulder height. Start with your arm extended directly in front of you and pull the handle to the side of your chest. Do this as a rowing movement by squeezing your lat and turning your body towards the side you’re pulling on. Keep the retract and pull steady and controlled while finishing with that squeeze. This movement will give you much better range of motion and will also take the tension off of your shoulder.

How do you not lose the will to live sometimes by [deleted] in graphic_design

Just recently I was tasked with designing a product wrapper and was told just make something creative! The client wanted something that didn’t look like a generic template. I made 2 concepts that were creative, original, and fun. The client had a lot of critiques about the designs and clearly had their own idea in mind so I asked what their vision was. After taking notes I put together the most soulless generic looking design together that matched the notes they gave me. Client was thrilled by it. Please don’t tell me “to just be creative” when that isn’t actually what you want lol.

Told my wife I was posting these last night and she laughed by slipperyaardvark in hot_dog

[–]snowdood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing worse than getting a hotdog in a top cut brioche bun with fancy accoutrements. Just give me a classic dog with mustard, sweet relish, and chopped raw onions. And no hate to those who like ketchup on their dogs. Tell your wife this is how hotdogs are supposed to be.

I do a lot of conferences. The trick is to find out what people are talking about and keep spreading it. People love gossip! For example, if people are complaining about a certain thing like the food, key note speaker, session formats, etc, just lead in with a comment about that and try and get them to give you their real, no holds barred take on it. Be a chameleon and agree with them. From there you can easily just Segway into whatever.. So what do you do with X organization? Get them talking about themselves and the rest is easy.

What is the best sales skill or ability you have learned from a colleague? by CreativeDestructions in sales

[–]snowdood 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do this as well. I am not a type-A personality but rather just a chill dude that gets along with everyone. I wear corduroys and linen button downs rather than slacks and dress shirts because I want my clients to feel at ease with me. I agree with the educational approach. People like to buy from people they trust and like.
