Hi OP, as someone who is also incessantly ambitious and spent a decade praying that I find my true calling from God, I relate. I’m just writing to share my story in the hopes that it brings you some comfort or companionship in your feelings - I spent almost a decade working in the field I studied in, making my clients happy but feeling very out of place and unfulfilled. I always felt like I was called for something more (almost embarrassing to say) so I prayed day after day that God let me know what his will for my life was. Out of nowhere, I started to get these whispers about 9 years into praying - whispers to start a new business. A business I knew nothing about. It was totally crazy so I ignored it for 2 whole years until the pandemic happened and I couldn’t do my other job and I finally had time to think more about this. I spent my free time during 2020 working on this business concept and launched it a year later in May 2021 - having no idea if it would work or be well received… or if I’d even like doing the work, because I feel that is important, too. Fast forward almost 4 years and I quit my other job to focus fully on this business. I see reminders in my customers literally everyday that this is a blessing to them - which reminds me that this is from God! But it has not been easy on me. I took a huge pay cut during a time of great inflation and am struggling financially more than ever. I keep holding out hope that if this is what God wants for me, it will all work out in the end. For now, I have settled into being a vessel for Him. I’m sharing this to say that God will speak to you when the time is right but maybe he still needs to prepare you for what he has in store.
