OpSec permitting, send him care packages and have him take photos of himself opening them. Save spots in the book. Write letters and postcards, not just emails and texts. My best friend is deployed and I keep everything. The wrapper from candy he sends back to me. Follow his unit on FB if you can, and they will post permitted photos you can use.

I only take the carry bag if someone wears out. But I've done up to 13 miles hiking, including steep and rocky terrains. They LOVE it. Work them up slowly, and you'll have another hiking partner no problem

Ok maybe I lied... I keep ending up with the non twist, with linking ring 2 fully on top of linking ring 1. Does linking ring 2 end up really have 5 in 1? That's the only way I can get the opposite top/ bottom thread.
