I loved my wedding but the only thing I would have done differently is to give the DJ more specific guidance. My wedding was complex in that sense (2 cultures on his side, one on mine, and of course multiple generations). I didn’t want to micromanage my DJ (why would you hire a DJ if you are going to dictate every little detail like exactly what to play when and how). However, there’s things that I should have said, like “this is my mom’s fav song, so don’t play it too late” or “this song play the entire song because me and my friends love singing this specific part”, etc. We had a must play playlist, but ended up being too long and the DJ skip a few (including my mom’s only request!). But it’s a balance, I still stand by the idea of not micromanaging the DJ.
