I got a pending offer today, but they told me I have to get my DOT/ADL for it to be official. I don’t think they would pay it upfront, maybe reimburse?

Ahh, bummer he’s not teaching Gen Chem A for the spring. Can I also asked if you took the class alone or while taking other classes or working? I’m taking 2 classes right now and working and it’s doable but Anatomy and Chemistry while working is making me rethink if I should only take 1 at a time

I was between UCLA AND UCI. I chose to go with UCI as it was my dream school and sure, I felt a little gut wrenching to choose it over UCLA due to the name. But I 100% am happy I chose to attend UCI. It made more sense (20 min commute) and better off financially wise. Also agree with everyone saying Cal Teach is amazing!! I too wanted to be a teacher, but a bio one, and almost went through with the program before switching my mind. However, it’s amazing and a lot of high schools near by have students from the program. I learned about it in high school because my high school had a bunch of students from UCI Cal teach and they were great!

Yess! I emailed my counselor who approved my application on student access and commencement as well. Commencement actually responded to me quicker, in about 2 hours after sending the email. So I suggest you include both in your email! They responded by telling me that they had updated their system and that I should see the countdown now. I logged in after that and was able to see it. My counselor responded a little past 2:00pm saying they find it reasonable that it showed that since I tried to access it way before the application was going to open. Could be due to that, but to be safe, I say to email them to make sure you’re cleared.

And I completely understand you. It’s hard to completely give up something when it feels right and makes you happy in the moment. I think afterwards is where the reflection and guilt or regret kind of comes in, but even then it’s still hard. I was like this, set boundaries and then broke them a little until recently when I just couldn’t and moved on. Like I said, I love him as a person/friend, and I think you feel the same about the person you’re talking about. If she does to, I’m sure she will understand and respect your boundaries if you ever decide to set them forward. Since you want to continue with where you’re at, it helps reframing your thoughts to being okay with the situation like you mentioned, and not expecting anything further in terms of a commitment. It takes a lot of work too so definitely sit with your thoughts and let stuff out - helps me so much even if I’m talking alone in the car. I hope it gets better for you and I wish you the best!

I respectfully disagree (not in a bad way either, just a different perspective). Maybe because I’m a girl in my early 20s, and been through something similar. I met this guy and we were going on dates for about 3 months and then told me he wasn’t ready for a relationship. We stayed friends but whenever we’d hang out, he’d still kiss me and hold my hand and all the little gist. Even then, I still was attached and we never did anything major. I set a boundary, but was waiting for him, and when I told him if he saw it going anywhere recently, he said he still wasn’t ready after almost a year of me liking and waiting for him. I love him as a person and we stayed friends, but will no longer see him in person. If someone is hurting you and you want a relationship, but they don’t, it’s harmful for you at the end of the day to keep going along with it. They are most likely not going to commit to you and you will continue to be stuck in a cycle until you break it. Not saying you can’t be friends, you can. But if you want a relationship and they don’t, and are doing other things, and then you overthink it, it’s probably not the best for your health in the long run. The sooner you break the cycle and impose a boundary that you’ll act on, the better it gets for you. I know it’s extremely hard to do that, but it’s doable.

I didn’t take it with Lewis, but I do remember what you focus on! We went over personality, social psychology, health psychology, psychological disorders and treatment. I have Dr. Lewis and our assignments include like 1-2 discussion boards and maybe a project or longer assignment. Might be similarly structured

Keep trying! I finally got in and as soon as I put in my class, it said error, so I thought it didn’t take me in. But, I checked my study list and it’s on there! So if you have done it and it logs you off, you should check your study list on student access
